Hmmm the voltage pin in my pin def is marked same as the comparator one..... _________________ Steven Martin

"Governor" mode could well be useful as well.
It'd make bots drive straighter at least, the big gun boats people would like a governor mode on reverse too. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets
So that was easy once I worked out what I had done wrong. The mux for the ADC works in binary not on a Pin Mask. I was very confused how my voltage cutoff was working at all but it was just me reading it wrong.
I have SFA decent batteries left I ended up grabbing a random battery which had at some point in time being used for my middleweight and then ended up on a experimental robot which need to run for 12hrs straight. It is connected through some horrible assortment of clips and what not.
Seems to work ok. SimonK is a bit painful to read in assembly and there is lots of stuff in there we don't need. Honestly the reversing seems almost flawless on the bench motor hops around quite violently.
If I magically find some spare time amongst all the other things I do I shall setup a test platform tomorrow.
Would you say that you don't need sensored brushless motors to have good low speed drivability based on you experiments?
It is 20 degrees in Logan City at 3am. Just saying. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems
The versions in Nebelwerfer do the job nicely. But for feathers, I quess we'll have to experiment with larger diameter motors. And that's a problem with the Gimson GR02's. The pinions are ment for a 1/8" shaft.
(I could send a handfull of those pinions by post to get bored and reamed)
Anything with a 5mm axle can be fitted to the Robotpower Magnums. Unfortunatly, Customs and taxes make those unaffordable.
So I think Glen's drive with decimator has made a good case for the brushless drive train. Startup is still a bit jerky and the braking doesn't seem as harsh as it could be but seems usable.
Might try mounting the small motors I got on some drills when I get time.
