Im currently knocking up a portable ant/beetle arena for our matches. It will carry its own power source. So im looling for ideas on what to put on to it.

Current plans are to:
Power 230v 12v and 5v. (Usb)
Timer system with lights
Couple of camera points
Speakers (might put a radio in to havent desided on that)
There is ample room so just suggest.

Aim is to make this as a club table.

Last night was once again great fun, with 5 combatants and a round robin tournament plus melees there were plenty of fights for all. Thanks again to Chris for hosting, and it was nice to see one new face, hopefully we'll get a couple more next time as well.

January 21st fight night. A great night for bot fighting!

This month we had 5 entrants competing in a round robin plus a few 5 bot, all on all melee matches.
An added twist this month was a working trap door (finally!) which deployed randomly between 30 seconds and 60 seconds into the 3 minute fight, with a 3 second warning tone.

So here's the videos folks!

https://youtu.be/3aBSzOLrrOQ
I cut down this first video to show 5 out of the 10 round robin matches (picked the 5 most interesting ones) to reduce video time.
I put the entrant list and final placings in the video description.

https://youtu.be/7KuWHFXtmvc
This video shows the second of the three melee matches we had (only three were recorded).
This was the only one with a clear winner (Owen!).

The next fight night will be on the 18th of Feb. Same place, same time!
Message myself or James2 for details if you're interested in joining or spectating. We have plenty of spare bots for anyone to have a go!

Great work guys...the setup looks quite impressive with the coloured lights etc...good work...just be careful with those spinners if there is no polycarb.... Those little tank track bots seem to have some power! Very Happy

Yeah, I was a bit worried about running it again, but I got it better balanced and wanted to give it a spin, I kept the weapon motor to the lowest speed (which made it rather ineffective really). We're looking at building a 3mm polycarb enclosure, trying to work out the best way/place to buy it at the moment.

For 3mm you should be looking at < 200 for a full sheet or you're getting ripped off.

Good to know. I was looking here to try and get an idea of pricing, they're above the $200 mark for a 2.4x1.2 sheet. Where does everyone else buy their polycarb, online or at a local store? There's a couple of places in Adelaide I've been meaning to contact.

For big stuff like that local physical stores are the place to go.
Generally they will respond best to an actual phone call rather than email and the like
