Last Thursday's Fight Night!

Had a round robin with four entrants this month:
- Owen with his bot, The Force
- Steve's Cut Above
- James with his many Dynamo's
- And Chris (me!) with my Green Devil

Final standings were:
1st Steve (3 wins)
2nd James (2 wins)
3rd Chris (1 win)

We also had a few crazy free for all melee fights. Good night had by all!
The highlights video can be found below. Experimented with using an extra camera for close ups of the action around the pit hazard. Hope it looks good!

Next Antweight fight night/afternoon will be on Saturday, the 19th of March. PM myself or James 2 for any details.
As always we will have several spare bots for anyone to rock up and have a go!

Great to see you guys keeping this going. Would you like a few BotBitz prizes for next comp?

Thanks Marto, it's only gonna get better too!

We've got a few more interested folks that should be able to join in now that we will be doing weekends in the future. Plus the antweight arena is gonna get upgraded soon with lexan screening and with more portability.
Hopefully we can start a 6 month season idea that James2 suggested earlier in this thread too. Smile

And to top it off, beetleweights and a soon to be completed arena are on the horizon.

Some prizes would be excellent though! What did you have in mind?

Great work with the video Chris, I think the extra angle looks great for the action around the pit.

The offer of prizes is awesome, as Chris said we're looking at a 6 month season, with points accrued from each month's event and then a season victor at the end. James had more ideas on that and for trophies.

Happy to do parts. Or even a couple of BB vouchers which might be a bit more flexible.

So far there is 7 people counted for this bot meet. A few more maybes.
Seeing if we have enough spare bots to go around.
so far 4 of us have bots.
I have 3 dynamo bots (could lend out 1 or even 2 if i don't brake it between now and then).
Need at least 2 more spare bots (if we want to do a FFA at the end)

I've got one friend definitely attending and another who hasn't confirmed. I've got at least one spare bot, may have two if we actually have a polycarb enclosure and I can unleash Picobyte.

I've actually got enough bits to equip another bot or two if I can build them - might try if I find enough time this week.

I can always print up another dynamo shell.
got another one in the works but unlikely to make it.

The enclosure wont be complete for this round. (some other arena upgrades are due first)

Cant see why it wouldn't be allowed. They don't seem to have the kinetic force of spinners.

But to be on the safe side lets see it before we say 100% yes.
Will be very impressed to see an effective hammer bot at 150g.

Keep the dynamo never know might like to have a cheap spare bot.
would be nice to see how well it came off your printer though.

Had an insane day at work, so I'm de-stressing by seeing how bodgily I can throw together an antweight chassis and end up with something functional(ish). I'll post photos in my antweight thread, but I should have something to add to the pile of spare bots on the weekend.

Well, my other friend is confirmed, and his wife and kids are coming along too. I have the lego arena I built for my lads, should I bring that along and let the kids fight with some of the spare bots in that?

That's fine, if you have something to put under the arena sure. not to keen to put it on the new floor with out some from of protection.
