Work Experience

Hi there,
Some of you may know me from the FRA forum, I'm a UK roboteer, currently in my first year studying General Engineering at the University of Cambridge.
I'm looking for some work experience/vac work during our summer holidays (June/July/August) relating to robotics.

If any of you guys can think of anything I should apply for or are able to offer such an opportunity I'd love to hear from you!

I can supply a résumé on request, either contact me on here or by email:
maxmed17(at)gmail.com

Thanks for reading and happy Christmas!

Sorry, can't help you on that one. Were you thinking of coming out to Australia just for work experience?

CSIRO and QUT do a Vac program but it's sorta for 3/4th yrs and in our summer.

Not really much Vac work around for 1st year end students particularly paid.

Don't hold me to it but my workplace i think only takes 3rd or 4th years as well. Is it even easy to get a Visa to work here temporarily?

Working holiday from UK should be ok but think it will need proper visa.

@Nick yeah my plan would be to come out to Australia and work for a month or so then probably do a bit of travelling around Australia for a couple of weeks. Last year I worked at a University in Johansburg and had a great time as it was a great way of experiencing a new culture.

Finding something suitable for 1st years is a struggle over here as well, I guess I might as well email these company's to see if they have anything.

In terms of Visa's I can get a working holiday visa which might be applicable, or there seems to be another visa for if it counts towards your degree which this would. I would have to speak to our careers department but I believe it can be done.

Hi,
I am new here from Perth and I am doing my bachelor in Computer sciences and along this I am also working for Click N Buy Australia https://www.clicknbuyaustralia.com/ they are paying me well for part time work. I am managing their website issues! You should also search for such companies!
