A tall beater is basically starting to become a vertical bar spinner. There are not many about as its harder to make than a bar, has less energy and is not as strong.

Haha silly me. Yeah a bar or maybe a disc would make more sense. Thanks for your advice Nick.

So... Just realized that I may not be able to get the brushed ESCs I originally planned to use for my last design. I searched on robot marketplace and Ebay, but so far I don't see many ESCs suitable for my design. (I think the Ragebridge or the Roboclaw 30A might work but I saw no reviews of them.)

If you happen to know any ESCs that might work please don't hesitate to post it here.

PS:I'm planning to use 5s Lipos to drive two 775 motors, I also want to put the ESCs under the motors (to save space) so the ESC needs to be kind of thin. (2cm would be just fine)

Haha the Botbitz was the one I originally planned to get, but as for now there are only two left and there's back order. I'm wondering if you know how long do they typically take to make the next batch?

The Ragebridge is an excellent ESC and is widely used in the US. I believe it is even used in some of the UK bots in the latest UK Robot Wars.

Thanks for the info. I never knew Ragebridge was so widely used... But where do people usually buy it from? I'm seeing no reviews on Robot Marketplace.

Very early model of the new Micro Magnum design:

Still thinking about what weapons to use... The opening for my weapon is a bit wide for a disc. (about 12cm, accounting for the pulleys it's still about 8cm wide) I'm thinking about something like Soylent Green's weapon, but how hard is it to make?

So its going to have two mid-sized disks and a connecting tube between them? I don't think that has been done locally but its getting more popular in other countries.

Yeah, that's certainly a valid way. What I was referring to was basically an aluminum block with steel teeth.

Agh nevermind... Just realized it's way too difficult to make a single teeth aluminum block spinner... I guess I'll try the double disc design.

Added a few details.. Still thinking about how to do the spinner though (tried a few designs but they either seem too hard to make or are too heavy)
