Anyone tried the coils of a hair dryer/ heatgun- they glow red hot when connected to a battery💥 _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

Yep, the gas cooled it down too much.

Yes I tried nichrome wire too, but couldn't get ignition.

If the gas cools it down too much, you need more current or thinner nichrome wire. I have an entire roll of what is probably 0.9mm at home. I can get it to melt in about 2 seconds on a small 12v SLA, and it melts at 1500 degrees.....

anyone tried a micro controller to pulse the gas solenoid on and off for a preset time to help ignition? Never tried it but would seem a plausible way to get the ratio correct enough to ignite? _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

Doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to use a small mosfet board to control the gas solenoid valve via an arduino. You could most likely get the sequence to start when the ardunio senses PWM from the receiver.
