Hobbywing Quicrun 860 dual brushed esc

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/catalog/product/view/id/63177/s/hobbywing-quicrun-wp-860-dual-brushed-60a-esc

Anyone tried this yet?

Just noticed these for $32 at HobbyKing. Two channels of 60A continuous 360A peak brushed ESC in a small form factor. 2-3s LiPo. Allegedly works for tanks and has intriguing "boat" and "rock crawler" modes which maybe do the mixing for you? Seems kind of too good to be true.

I have a couple of QuicRun 1060s in Flamin Heck at the moment and they seem to drive well. They have a F/R mode which goes straight from forwards to backwards with annoying "double tap reverse" like you see on many car ESCs.

Kind of hard to tell whether it has two independent servo inputs or one (in which case it presumably drives both motors in parallel).

I can see only 1 servo lead, so looks like a parrallel setup for 2 motors. (front and back axle on crawlers for example).

I would bet good money that this is a regular single channel ESC with two sets of output wires to make it sound different from all the other crappy controllers.

I nearly bought it last week to try it, but I'm set for speed controllers at the moment.

Digging through the manual it sounds like it can control two motors separately but when it says 60A that's for both channels combined. Getting the mixing right on the transmitter combined with the ESC settings might be fun though.

Now that I read the manual. this ESC has an extra problem - the max reverse current is half the forward current. When the specs. show that, it often means the ESC will only go half as fast in reverse, which is really useless in a robot. I can't see anything about the ESC being dual channel, just dual motor - if there is only one signal lead, there is just no way to control the motors independently.

I received one today and can confirm that there are two sets of output leads connected in parallel to the same H bridge and that there is only one servo input lead. This is pretty similar to the Quicrun 1060 in functionality. With the board encased in epoxy there's little possibility of reprogramming it.

Does it work properly in crawler mode for our applications? Probably best off just buying 30As at that price.
