man this thread is way to dead for such a huge event Smile

so what was everyones favourite fight of the event? i think mine where the two IG and plan b fights, and reboot vs IG was one of the more intense ones,

the scoopy doo vs reboot fight was kickass as well, how long did that go for anyway? all i can remember was the one hit knocking scoopys batterys off.

and a suggestion, how about everyone just right up a fight report for all there fights, then we can just accumulate them all into a big event report.. ?

We're not dead - just worn out ...

( lots of work being done on the video footage )

I just finished a quick promo for my own bot - (for kids and schools) and it will be "uploaded" shortly ( when I work out how to do it )

Getting all the footage from the different sources - to all the people for editing is painfull . More video is coming .......

Enjoy

Yes, received the MiniDV tapes of the fights today as well as the VHS tapes from a different angle.

Have a format for this particular DVD and its mainly

highlights of the event broken into rounds
then the finals shown complete
and bonus section so far containing lightweights

It will not have everyones fight from start to finish, so get over it.
Short and sweet is probably the best description of it atm.

Will start capturing tomorow.
@Kheeroos, Just checking if you got my address regarding lightweight fights.
Not hassling u bout it, just suggesting might be handy in a week or so.
Will try to get this done asap

I was just about to sit down here and finnish getting the fights onto DVD, but I decided to check this thing first. I would have easily got them to you sooner, but I installed a 30 day trial version of Autodesk Inventor 9 on my computer before christmas and have been desperatly trying to squeeze out the plans for as many new robots as possible out of it before the program expires. SolidWorks isn't agreeing with my new video card.

As for what Glen wants, I couldn't remember my fights 10 seconds after they happened.

latest stable release
one of the kerro's servers dosent send MIME type propperly i think and so firefox tried to render the text of a 10mb movie or some such.

it seems more prone to that than IE i think

Yeah, FireFox doesn't like WMV's at all. Just creates the text, as you said.

Well, Courtesy of Rick (The Moth), heres a compilation video clip he made from RoboWars..

Its 3.20 long, and naturally features Vincent a lot, since Rick hopes to use it promote how cheaply bots can be built to schools and so on with it, but everyones bot gets a good hit or two in and names etc.. well worth a look.

You can get one of three different sizes and quality's here..

Enjoy !

That was a nice video. First time I've heard decent music on a clip in a while, and well cut. should do nicely for introducing people to the competition.

i loved the big rumble scenes, and especially the end part where everyones picking there bot up.

it also captures most aspects of robot combat well. good job.
