Hobbyking transmitter

Hi everyone,

I just have a quick question in regards to the hobbyking 6ch transmitter.
I'm trying to setup the knobs (VR-A and VR-B) in the "digital radio" software for some extra weapon control and I can't seem to get the knobs to provide an output unless they're mixed to another channel, I'm already using 2 mixes for movement so I don't really want to use another unless necessary. Is this normal for these controllers? I assumed because channels 1-4 are generally bound to the sticks, that the knobs would be assigned to channels 5 and 6 by default. I may have a setting wrong but I can't find anything to change this.
I've got the type set to "ACRO"

Thanks!

As far as I am aware, you've got it right - the only way to use channels 5 & 6 is through a mix. It is one of the limitations of these transmitters, and part of why I'm moving over to the Flysky FS-i6 for my bots.

Damn that's rather unfortunate, luckily I don't "need" any more than 3 mixes.
Thanks for the help! I'll check out new transmitters in the future

No worries! The FS-i6 still only supports 3 mixes unfortunately, but you can assign channels 5 and 6 to either of the variable knobs or a couple of the switches, so you can use them without wasting a mix. It's still a "cheap" transmitter but has a lot of features over the Hobbyking ones.
