armour? never! unless i can find it for free it has no place on robort! hehe

bits get ripped off, its all good, the wire mesh hopefully will get caught in someones blade etc!

the more bits that fly off and jam in other robots the better, ask Plan B about the second nice new belt they put on Smile

Well so far it looks pretty good for me competiting at next event. Just wondering whether i should or else if i take out say cobra (in theory glen so dont get bitchy) then i might jepordise his chances of winning the contest.

Also this is another idea. DO u guys want to get together to organise things that need fixing and chopping that damn step to the arena entrance off so people arent capable of tripping.

Also two questions:
Chrisjon- whats happening with that steel computer flooring and/or when are we going to use that stuff.

Jeff- U mentioned u could maybe get some polycarb from your work for something like 9mm lexan or omething. Is this still happening?

THanks all.

The computer flooring would be sweet, but its a major job to lay it: First, the tiles weigh several tons, next, we have to make a perfectly level grid to lay the tiles on, unless Chris was lucky enough to score the sub-floor parts along with the tiles, next we have to make new inner walls that are higher. The tiles usually have fairly slippery plastic coating (like kitchen laminate) so we will need to paint them with a non-slip paint.

Nothing we can't do, but since this is Chris's busy season, I'm guessing it's a Summer Holidays job. I have up to five weeks of holidays to use up, so I'm OK to work on it during the week if Jeff J doesn't mind.

nick i do in fact have all the subfloor posts and levelers Very Happy
the surface on the tiles is textured ....
we would need to paint them in a non slip paint that has sand in it for grip ,or something similar...
it would take about a day to set it up and thats with everything there ready to go ...as nick said it ways a lot and a few trips will be needed to get it jeffs or a small truck could do it in one
i think a steel tube arena wall needs to be organised at about 400mm above the arena floor ....
i will do some costings at getting this done .... as you know i now have access to lots and lots of metal working gear Smile and ill see if i can get the materials real cheap , i will do a sketch and put it up as soon as i get time ...but ill sought the cost out pretty quick Wink

That's brilliant news! Without the levellers, computer floor is next to impossible to lay flat. About how high are they?

i can probably get some 25x25x2 for $10 a metre.

well i guess here goes the formalities:
REGISTERATION

ROBOT. cobra
TEAM. aurora
DRIVER. glen
FREQ. 29.885mhz FM

ROBOT. screwy
TEAM. aurora
DRIVER. glen

YOUR GETTING SCREWED!

I can buy 20 x 20 x 1.8 for $11 in 6M lengths. If you guys have them down there, head to your local Budget Steel!
