Wheels: im using super cheap auto white wheels $6 each (see photo above)
Batterys: For the weapon motor ive got 2 2.3 amp batts from super cheap auto http://robowars.org/forum/album_pic.php?pic_id=318
and for the drive motors im using 2 12v drill batterys (i havent got them yet) if anyone has any xu1 drill batts there going to chuck out pm me ill buy them.
Frame: im useing chopping board not normal 1 cm chopping but huge 1 inch think chopping board which i got from a salvage yard for $1 each (there worth $60 new)
weapon: A flail powered by a wheel chair motor at 24volts more than 4000 rpm. the ends of the flails will have hatcet heads but until i can oford them im using 2 chucks of steel i found in the shed. ive bolted the on with 2 U bolts

good luck windy and hope it goes well for u.
What do u plan to use to controll the machine.
Also why not a kinetic spinner like your impressive smaller robot instead of a flail. I have yet to see a flail bot perform well. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

thanks for the surport Andrew
i plan to buy a second hand ibc for around $200 or less and ill be getting a 3ch or more radio for christmas.
i will probly end up with a kinetic spinner but i just want to see how a flail performs and with the flail i probly will not bend the shaft.

ok i need a question answered
Look at the picture 2 posts above.
the drive is right at the back will this give more power better turning and more speed or should i move them to were the drill batterys are? so there more in the middle? so i can do 360s faster???
?????????????????

Balancing your weight above your drive is a good thing, IMO.

hey it like a car, if the wheels are at the frount it will flick the rear round really fast good if you have weapon at the back but it's bad as robots start pushing you from the front you lose traction
but it' also the same vice versa wheels at the back a good for pushhing but bad for turning as you would have to flick the weapon around and this would hapen slowly.
the middle would be the best for you robot.
(just a foot note im making a drine with six wheels four smaller wheels to suport an the two main wheels the four smaller one chain droven by the bigger ones so the weight is in the middle of the wheels ) _________________ For West ausies interested in robotics email me at: theoneshrug@hotmail.com

Sounds more complex than necessary, in our sport simpler (and hence cheaper) is usually better. For your first bot why not just use casters in place of those smaller wheels ? Chain is pretty heavy and if your making a spinner your going to want all of the weight you can get in the weapon and weapon motor. _________________ Jeff Ferrara

I asked pretty much the same question for hell bent.
If your weapon is gonna be fairly heavy then id say have your wheels more towards the back but from what you have been telling me about your weapon and its weight you should be fine with the wheels in the middle. _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

well!!!!
i was horryfied to fined that windhammer would wiegh 15kg without armor so im rebuilding its frame and weapon.
http://robowars.org/forum/album_pic.php?pic_id=376
thats without the perspex side panels and steel base plate attached.
This rebuild version is looking like it will be underwieght quite a bit.
What do you Guys think?
