Sorry Tim, I checked with Gary today, and the actuators are actually from a much later model commodore. VY or something like that he said.. I must have mis-heard..
You probably wont find many commodores of that late a model in your wrecking yards yet, you might have to see if you can get some from the local holden dealer or somewhere like that. _________________ Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people

Don't go there, they are crap! Jeff got them to work on El Bravo, but he has busted several AFAIK. The housing is really thin so its not likely to take anything involving shock loading, like making an IG style undercutter. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

i think those are like little neon tubes, i believe they come with a built in transformer or something that runs off 24v? _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

Typically they plate a wire in some substance that glows when power is applied to it. Then they wrap very fine wires on the outside of that and put it in tubing. They usually run a small transformer to generate a highvoltage to make the wire glow. Im not sure what range of voltages they can take, but if they run from two AA's, with alkalines thats 3v, so its only a small step up to 3.6v, give it a test run and see how it goes and tell the rest of us hehe

Would a 9.6v drill motor blow up at 24v for an actuator in my nex bot?
Its only for a short time and i know a 12v drill at 24v will cope but i thought maybe a 9.6v might not? not to sure? _________________ Tim Team Reaper.
