got the idea for the name as im going to be using scrap metals to build it .
also got a few ideas for the drive im ging to have either a two wheeld thing with little wheels to stop it jaming on the ground or a four wheeled thing conected by chains to have extra grunt to push.

here's a idea of the stats

Frame steel or aluminum

plating 3mm thick top botom and 2 mm sides steel?

drive drill motors two motors conncted to a chain driven wheels

weapon two cutter disks hooked up two a fan motor

Well thats what on the drawing board.

well i wouuld go for a first robot to at least 6mm ali if u want to be in there with the big boys. or go thin stuff for base and bolkheads to shove into spinners etc.

ALso just go with 2 drills and red wheels as it is much simpler and the setup u have will be way more trouble then its worth.

The cutting disc on fan motor idea sounds promising,. My first robot scrap had a 33 dollar dewalt saw blade on a large fan motor directly mounted at 24 volts and it was a awesome weopon and certainly had potential if the robot worked better.

WIll hopefully reuse it in a future idea as a interchangable weopon or something.

yay got me some drill motors for wheel drivers and a fan motor off wind hammer although not the gruntiest thing it dose pretty good.

also found a bunch of old servos and recevers eta in a box stached away.
all i need is a controler transmiter eta.

also just to save time can i use angel grinder disks in spinner blades?

No Grinder discs they can explode so are classed as too dangerous
use spinning bars saw blades diamond saws brush cutter blades ect ..

Actually, I dont think theres anything in our rule set that says no grinder discs..

Yes, they can easily explode, bu thats what the lexan is there for, and while we'd prefer that your weapon didnt explode on impact (and so would you probably) I dont think grinder disc fragments would be too likely to piece the lexan..

Of course if you cant resist the temptation to spin it up outside of an arena (which I suppose everyone does at some stage) and hit something with it,then you will probably wish you hadnt used a grinder disc.

Aapart from being dangerous, it will get expensive replacing them all the time and its not much fun fighting weaponless after an impact, so I wouldnt reccomend it, but I dont think its illegal

It Might have been the Robot wars rule set we have always steered clear from useing them as i was sure they wernt allowed but i have been wrong before .

the only rule that may disqualify a grinding / cutting disc is

well i would probably classify a grinding disk as a disk that may shatter.

probably not a part of the current ruleset but id like to see them become banned, as i reckon its a matter of only WHEN not IF in regard to them shattering.

nah it kinda sucks

i was designing my bot on paper and showed my dad and he said it looked simmeler to hypno-disk in the english battle bots from the 2000-2001 series when he told me i thought it was freaky as i had compleatly forgoten the robot wars way back then. but that is what is is sort of going to look like any one else have this sort of thing hapen?
