Googling "key to search ltd" scam doesn't return any relevant results, so its probably not malicious. Still best to delete though.

Does anyone have second hand Nvidia gfx card lying around?

Needs at least a 3.0 score on here https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus

Playing with a few CUDA things but not really keen to fork out for a new card just to play.

I had the same error yesterday but the post still worked. I noticed today that there have been no email notifications since around 10am so its probably related.

Slightly off topic:
I have a student who is building a laptop cooling pad for a design project. I scrounged some 12V computer cooling fans from the computer department. The fans have 4 wires. We hooked the fans up to a 11.1V LiPo using the red and black wires. One of the fans stopped working. Did I do something wrong?

The fans are polarity sensitive but other than that they are hard to destroy.

Red in computer is also usually 5V yellow is 12V. I would say you made it sad.

Maybe not - all the salvaged fans I have use red & black for power and a random colour for the RPM sensor. Over-volting a fan will eventually kill it, but I have run 12V fans on 22v for a short time without killing them.

Having four wires in a fan is unusual - any clue as to what the extra wire is for?

According to this pdf ( http://www.analog.com/library/analogdialogue/archives/38-02/fan_speed.pdf ) a four wire fan has +V, GND, Drive and Tach.
On this fan it has symbols on the circuit board next to the wires:
Red = +
Yellow = A
Blue = D or P (Can't read it)
Black = -

But my guess is we might have plugged in in backward. That's usually my guess when I break an electrical thing.

And the sticker on it says 12V
