Question Is there a DVD or two of Robowars 1 ?

Something along the lines of the one recently done by Nexus - for example ???

Willing to pay $$. Smile

I havent done any more work on the RoboWars I DVD for quite a while now (as I'm sure you've all noticed)..

Honestly.. 95% of the good footage is in that highlights compilation video I made.. The rest of it is an awful lot of Robots suffering radio interference, jolting about, getting stuck on the uneven floor, being kicked by Matt to get them unstuck again, moving 3 feet and getting stuck again and so on..

I have finished editing 7 of the 21-odd fights, so I'll compress and upload a few of them and see if you all think they're worth continuing with.. Rolling Eyes

Heres one to start with..

www.greenant.com/video/final_1-07_haemorrhage_vs_no.5.wmv

(it will be at that link in about 15 minutes - its uploading now, so if you get a not found, just hang about for a while and try again)

I'll post more links as they're encoded and uploaded (which will take a while)

thanks for that... It would be good to get a DVD of it - even just for the sake of the collection of Australian robot fights, etc.

if ever it is ready, I'll have one. Smile

Well, As you can probably see, they're hardly up to the standard of later battles..

I havent heard anyone go "Wow, great video's !" about the ones I posted so far.... told you most of the exciting stuff was in the compilations.. Laughing

After I had spent ages making the highlights compilation, my enthusiasm for trying to make the remaining footage look good waned somewhat, and then even further after video's from later events came out and made them look even less exciting by comparison.. which is why they languished around for over a year. Rolling Eyes

Maybe I'll try to finish off editing up the remaining fights without putting so much time into trying to polish them and release a DVD for "Historical Interest" of the first public battle in Australia (might be good to show newbies how much trouble we all had to start with too.. Laughing)

Wont happen in the next few weeks though, I'm snowed under with Work again, and now we have another public event in just 2 weeks, and I.G. is still a pile of scrap steel.. Hopefully it wont take as long to reassemble this time since the wiring harness and battery packs are already made this time.

Anyway, here's another couple..

http://www.greenant.com/video/final_1-02_mouse_vs_t2m.wmv
http://www.greenant.com/video/final_1-03_annihlation_vs_ko.wmv

Keep on me after the event and I'll get them onto DVD, it would be good to have the 80-odd Gig of hard drive space they are taking up back.. Wink

OMG DID YOU SEE THE DAMAGE BY ANNIHILATION?! makes plan b and jolt look like a cat :p

it would be nice to see my chaotic crap box crawl around again but on the other hand maybe its best that no body saw it Very Happy

given the quality of the nsw fights at the time (el bravo was cardboard, and scrap was still a piece of street sign and timber heh) i was pretty blown away at the quality down your way at the time.. with the IBCs and fancyness and all Smile

Cyclonebot 2.0
http://www.madoverlord.com/Movies/2004Nats/9999.mov

This has to be the best Cyclonebot testing video yet. When it gets up to speed, it makes MegaBite look like it's standing still! 11.9mb video, but it's awesome to watch it. Cannot wait till they give this thing another battle!
