It just got some 2mm ware plating armour put on it, a drill motor for the lifter and a series wound fan motor..... Not a mega tune up Cool

Nick has some great ideas for increasing the arena size and improving the veiw of the arena. He was talking about moving the viewing pannels to the eastern wall of the shed and using the entire floor area as a combat zone. The PC sheets would also be lowered to make it easier for everyone to see. Nick also plans to put new roofing pannels over the arena to let in more light.

Nick also mentioned plans for an outdoor cross country fighting area. 25 kg non spinner robots could battle in the grass and over rochs and logs.

A small $10 donation per robot per event will help to take some of the burden off Nick. Nick hasn't asked for any money, but it wouldn't be fair for him to carry all costs for our enjoyment.

another great weekend Smile

Hope the Cheese Shredder isn't too busted up - I didn't mean to hit the Prancing Queen with the spinner... I just couldn't control the cheese enough to just turn a 180 and bring the wedge into play... When I tried to turn a little - the cheese did a 360 instead. I'm going to gear down MoF if that is how quick 12V is (or does the cheese run 24V?).

I'll definately be running Malice of Forethought on April 24... Marto - I've found a "Porters Engineering" in Toowoomba Very Happy oh yeah.

I'm going to mention arena (possible) changes in the "QLD arena" thread... to save chatter here, I'll mention outdoor fights in a new thread - in rules/safety/ etc area.

Cheese runs 12v with 125mm wheels on GeForce drills. It's great fun once you get use to it, people at MM4 may remember me doing power slides around the arena Smile

Porters Engineering is a great place, that's where I pic up my 75mm blue wheel from and the guys there are always giving us under the counter prices! 10 Allen head high tensile bolts cost me $3 and they gave me 10 matching Nylocs for nothing Razz

24th of April, I might have my spinner ready for then, just depends how quick I can hassle Andrew into making the big chunky right angle gearbox for me Cool

Thanks Nic, your announcement has been updated.

If you would like to start a seperate thread for each event, rather than just having the "House of Carnage Season 1" thread please do so (I'm working on one thread per event for the Vic Ones), and I'll update the link to the current event discussion in the announcement.

Otherwise, as the "Season 1" thread (which will eventually grow to pages and pages long) will mean newcomers following the announcement link will have a lot to wade through)

We are looking at having 3 robots at the moment. I (Daniel) will have Scarifier going just as soon as I fix the pneumatics after Marauder broke it. According to my brothers poor video efforts Marauder got its flipper arm under mine and through my arm up which pulled the rams apart and sheared the tubing.
Andrew is currently rebuilding Hellbringer X which will also be there. There shouldn't be any problem with gearboxes braking in half now.
And of corse Prancing Queen will be there. We stripped her down and she ain't talking much at the moment, but I'll put her back together this weekend, hopefully. The only problem is we are short a driver so we are looking for someone to contol the blond (most likely Adrian at the moment).
