House of Carnage Season 1

Just wondering what everyone is thinking bout for dates for our regular comp. I think we agreed to have it every 6 weeks. Should we somehow try and tie in with the NSW comp for intersate competitiors and would we also want to have an annihalator which could be interesting with the small arena. Also i would think that since the annihalator last year turned out to be a sort of state of origin battle that we could also possible allocate one event to that purpose.

Let me know your thoughts

every 6 weeks is fine with me.
I'm looking to move one of the walls back 1 meter, to increase the arena floor size, which is probably as big as it can be without getting cramped for competitors. If we can move both of the interior walls back 1 meter, we could add a low buffer wall to prevent bots getting right up to the screens.......

how many bots are there usually at the annihalator ?

sorry for being a little off track but, what does everyone think of maybe calling the season something else, let me explain...

Metal Mayhem is kind of a once-a-year competition, isn't it ? What if it was left that way as a special event and the season was called something else.
That way at the end of the year, people can reflect on how their season was or just how well they did at the Metal Mayhem....

Question

Metal Mayhem was just a name I came up with for your Kilkivan events. I think House of Carnage sounds really good for the Goombungee event Razz Metal Mayhem usually has a 3-6 month time gap because Andrew and myself have other things to do as well in our time. It sounds like the events will be held more often at the House of Carnage then out at Kilkivan, so your entitled to the series name Cool

Those dates look good. What does everyone else think and what about the State of origin battle just for some fun?

Changed the name too. We still want to have a kilkivan Metal Mayhem battle once or twice a year?

It doesn't matter to me which days we meet. Just give us a date and some notice and we will be there.

Well if i make them all sundays will we make those dates official if there are no objections. If you know you cannot attend on any of the dates can you say now and we'll try to see what we can do.

round 1 ............march 6
ruond 2 ............april 24
round 3 ............june 5
round 4 ............august 21
round 5 ............oct 9
round 6 ............nov 20
round 7 .............dec 18

Once we start the point score it will be for that robot only if you rebuild and change the main feel of the robot the point score will start again.

The robots should all be nominated one week before the event and if not completed should be withdrawn before the date. Draw may be done as early as friday night before the event but may not be done until morning of fight. All draws will be done randomly and will only be changed by 100% vote.

All Robots must be fitted with failsafes on weapons and must have a removable link. The competition is for feathweights weighing in at 13.6kg or less. All Robowars rules apply and robots should be built to those guidelines.

Standard Start time will be 9:30. If weighing is to be done it will start at 9:00.

3 judges will be appointed before the match and will be consulted for a result if a KO does not occur. These may not be from the team or group having biased opinion.

Anythin else i missed? Any probs?

Have you got the dates for round three the same as the the Marayong Annihilator?

Also does MM5 count toward the point score for this year?

I think that answers your first question.

No MM5 does not count new points score but we can score for Metal Mayhem separately.

Crying or Very sad
The chance that Scarifier can do that sort of performance is pretty poor with my record.

I reckon MM5 should count as it is the first event of the year and will make an even 8 events. A lot of people battled hard last event to get there placings Andrew and Daniel Kero (2nd and 3rd) and Scott by winning the event.

Start the points from MM5! Twisted Evil

I think the points from MM5 should count too....
What if points from all Qld rounds (here or at Kilkevan) were to go towards a result for the Qld competition ?
Metal Mayhem can still be a stand alone comp (with trophies and bragging rights) but the points still count for each person's annual tally....

One problem I can see however is that if someone is developing a new bot and wishes to use it at the Metal Mayhem (and use their usual bot for the annual comp) then it stuffs up the point scheme.....

any ideas ?
