Relay Controllers

I'm wondering if anyone is interested in buying/building relay controllers. I've been slowly designing my own right now and I'm going to get some PCB's made, so I thought if anyone was interested in some, I could order a few extra PCB's and could sell some.

My current design is a dual controll board, which can be cut in half to have two seperate controllers. Each controller will run 2 x 70amp Relays. This is an open source project and even the costs of the parts and such will be open source.

The PCB's will cost around $25 each(double sided) and there is around $40 worth of components. Most parts can be bought directly from JayCar and even some parts can be salvaged (servo leads). I'm looking at selling them for $80 a set fully assembled and TESTED!
If you just want a single side (half board) then the price is $45.

I guess you want some statistics on what I'm offering Cool so here they are:

Will run 12-24v, regulatored relays so you can use a 24v battery with only 12v relays without burning out the coils.
Reverse polarity Protection has been added (inform of a 1amp diode before the capacitor).
Failsafe ability, turn off the radio and the controllers will shut down to a failsafe mode.

Anyway, it's just an idea for now, will let you know when I finish the wiring prototype on Friday and get the first batch of proto PCB's assembled.
Any Questions?

I don't mind lending a test sample, but to give one away is a bit hard to do. I'm scratching for money as it is Sad Trade 4 x drill packs and you can have a single sided sample Very Happy

On all honesty, this isn't a money making venture and I'm happy just for people to get the open source plans and make them. Is there anyone interested in buying just single channel ones for weapons? they can be used for low-med powered spinners, lifters, flippers and axe robots. Each one has breaking too which is good for using them as drives!

Going to be buiding the first prototype in 20mins time Smile So I'll get some results up tonight.

I'm actually doing a small rethink on the design that could save a little more money, add some extra features, but it will be a dual board (4 relay outputs) only.

More on that at a later date.

I haven't actually connected up the relays yet, but I did test it and according to the multimeter and signal LED, it is switching with no hassles Smile The failsafing is working good. Plug the power on, it failsafes until the radio turns on, if you push the stick full forward and then move your trim to advance the signal, as soon as it goes past the failsafe limits the LED starts flashing and the switching circuits are set to an off setting!

SO HAPPY! No smoke either. Time to just look at the final design of the PCB's and then send off to get them made. I'm putting a website up with all the code and the PCB's i have designed

Well the relay project I designed is just needing built and combat tested more then my basic testing that was done. I've dumped them to the side for now and have shifted onto my Pulse 50 controllers (picaxe pwm controllers), which I'm currently looking at redesigning the current layout to cut back on parts and to make it a bit easier to setup.
