Hi all
Robowars II the - video
George rushed the "builders" version of this DVD out so the compeditiors could get a look at the fights.
There is a "commercial" version that hopefully will be available to the public soon depending entirely on
Georges , mine and Brett's work shedules ( it had to await till we could launch the Vic Title series)
it will be available thru the "RoboWars" website and will be available to all non-compeditiors . For the
"builders version" you need to be a compeditior and you should contact and pay George directly .
The commercial version will only be available thru the Robowars website and "yes" we will ship internationally .
Exact costings are yet to be decided but watch the website for more info .
Enjoy
Moth

Do do, do do... Laughing Smile Smile
One thing i think you should add to the comercial one is a builders specs page, with a bit of info, pics and video on some selected robots. (that's what i was craving...) Very Happy

Almost did something like that.
Had the idea of having a datasheet of each robot so during any fight if u clicked on the subtiltle button a text overlay would appear over the video with details and specs of the 2 robots in the fight.
I know that some specs have started to be collected by Aaron a long long time ago and think it might be a good idea to start collecting this sort of data again so it can be used on DVDs and other things.

What we need is a template to be worked out with predefined fields to be filled in and set questions

Eg,
Weapon
Weapon power
Drive
Voltage
Armour
Materials used
Electronics
Radio gear
Wheels
Robot u most want to kick in the head
etc etc

If this sort of info was up to date and easily available more chance of it being used.
Would be good if there was a page for each robot on the site where builders could update these specs as they do mods.
Just a thought anyway but I like the idea of clicking a button on your remote and getting the specs up while still watching the fight.

Also, I have an idea, that may be a pain, but I find it would be very useful for some people. I wouldn't mind seeing a small text based report after each battle from the robots, something that just says:

We lose this battle after frying 3 drill motors and cooking a speed controller

or

We broke our weapon against Plan B.

Something that will tell theview what happened. Some battles just leave you sitting at the end wondering why a robot stopped. IE: Pinscher VS Hell Razer.

Yeah and to take it further you could also have the judges point alocation for the fight so it details how close the match was from a judges POV.

Actually, that's a brilliant idea! Like when watching the Cheese Shredder VS Cobra match, you don't know why Cobra won after it got owned all battle.

*Some parts of this post have been told biased to favour one robot Laughing *
