Fear this; after Danny has given the go ahead to featherweight flame bots in his arena we have decided to add to Skeletor’s modular weapon arsenal with a flamethrower. Picture being trapped in Skelly claws and having the flame focused on the top of your bot. Twisted Evil

Bought a BR6000 RX for Skelly so I can operate him of the same TX that controls Maestro and Bane2. Very Happy

This way I can use him for fillers and if I enter him instead of Bane everything is ready to go. Cool

If I get another Dewalts M1 pack I could set him up to run on them and then I might have a little weight to play with.

Finally giving Skeletor some TLC. Smile

Worked out why his griping claws malfunctioned in his last fight. Broken wire on relay.

He now has a BR6000 and I have moded my TX so the throttle self centers so it will be a lot easier to drive him.

Hopefully he will get a few outings in our Vic comp, not sure if I really wont to take on too many nasty spinners with him, unless I can use his flame thrower but that’s not working yet.

Obviously the M1’s are a factor in Skellies development as weight was always tight.

With the M1’s peak current a really powerful overhead saw is a possibility.

Thanks, I got good vibes from people at the Exhibition event with Skelly, the Ballistic Skeletor fight was quite amusing.
It was debatable as to if they were fighting or doing something else. Rolling Eyes

Skellys handstand well I will try to get a vid up.

Don’t know how the taping went, there were no lights set up in the arena.

Found Skeletor’s thread buried 4 pages deep.

Time to dust it and the bot of.

No time to finish Roller.

Sportsman class is ideal opportunity to have some fun.

Roller was me thinking winning design strategy.

Skeletor is me trying to be entertaining.

Things to do;
Finish building saw weapon, get claws working as reliably as possible, practice driving, prep spare parts.

Check out the builders DB.

At the moment I will be in my own, Rob would like to be there but is hopefully starting new job and probably can’t get time of.

So happy to oblige and yes I remember how close that Robowars final was.

.
Thanks really pleased to have an opportunity to get him in an event.
The sportsman class is one factor that makes that possible.

I was trying to push the limits of how big a feather I could build as opposed to how small and make use of the most radio channels.

Like you I am a big fan of the tip shop as a robot parts resource. Can you guess what Skeletors bones (frame) are made out of?

I have almost finished his saw weapon that was always part of the plan so will have the choice of drill or saw.

This is going to be an easy fight history to document. Skeletors fight history is rather short given our main robots were bender, reboot and bane. highlights includes crashing and burning in the wacky race and beating orbit. like dad said earlier here its perfect for sportsman competition so should see some more use. still being left until last for completion before this event as usual. priority has been the new hydra, bender and minimower but a bit has been done and it will be ready for the comp this weekend.

lately skele's had a couple of changes. more simplified claw mechanism, the claws work in tangent with the same motor that brings the weapon down using cables. rather than the servo's that it had previously. Given there's only 10 seconds to hold the opponent. no point putting much effort into the arm articulation to grip. half their job is just stabilizing skeletor while using its weapon.

Got a speed controller for the arm. previously it worked either on or off. so now its got fine control to bring the saw down.

Just going to run it without the fan.

Running IBC. Making use of 12v weapon switch, high current battery eliminator circuit.

Bit of time spent building the weapons

skeletors almost topical at the moment, noticed they're selling halloween stuff at the shops, could've dressed it up a bit more with a skull mask and shroud Laughing
