Cool, got a micro reciever on it's way, and should get the replacement brushless ESC soon enough Smile
Currently I'm looking at doing a little undercutter, however would like to get a little blade cut. If anyone is doing waterjet or laser jet cutting soon let me know, it'd greatly appreciate being to piggy back instead of paying for a whole new job! Shocked
Other than that, I can just use a saw blade for now. Smile
Great... almost all the parts needed for a full comp beetleweight! Very Happy

Wow! Soo much smaller?! Twisted Evil

It's a blue arrow 5ch, got it from Ringo at Ozhobby.com Got it the day after the order was finalised and paid for! I'd highly recommend them if you're after any of these small parts usefull for beetles! Very Happy
Hehe... wait till the annialator... beetles are going down, especialy all those with exposed wheels, regardless if they're made out of solid titanium Laughing
I just gotta keep it in the weight limit, aka no armour
Laughing What was it again? 1.36kg?

I got the micro Rx in and working last night... Wow, this little thing is amazing Shocked I get no glitching at all, and can even test it with the radio antenna right in, with a micro Rx! Very Happy If anyone was planning a beetleweight I really recommend the blue arrow 5ch highly, it's really good quality and only $30 from ozhobby.

Regarding Progress i've remade the frame properly with 1mm steel and got the drives and weapon securely mounted. I just duct taped the rest on to get it running, but it's turning out to be a really nasty little setup Twisted Evil
Weight is pretty good at around 700g... plenty of weight for sides and the rear wedge hehe.

Plus I can put really any spinning weapon I desire onto the shaft, such as the steel bar, disks, circular saw blades.... Smile
I'll get some photo's up tonight.
EDIT: Here's the pics. Very Happy
Side view (this will all be covered with side armour soon)

And view of the base (note the mounts for the maxon and the weapon drive, just an O ring with some random pulleys Very Happy Go the 45c pipe mounts!)

4140 is as common as anything. If you have any problems, let me know, I'll chase some up at work... What size do you need?

Well had tonnes of spare time today which i spent some of adding side armour and a getto rear wedge to the beetle.. It feels pretty heavy so no doubt it's overweight but it's not like it's ever going to compete...
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v424/dyrodium/?action=view&current=PA050018-1.jpg&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch1
And before that I had some fun setting up a path of destruction for the robot... this was before the sides and wedge were added. Fun fun Twisted Evil

Today I made some plans for the new beetle... I modified the brushless so it's the shaft through mounting plate version, and more suitable for robots (it's designed to be able to be used in either configuration)

And layed out some parts... I'm buying my old trusty Ti bar off windhammer now he's done with it, and will be powering it this time via the brushless and an O ring setup. The frame will be a simple L angle length with some thin ali and polycarb to hold in the components. Very Happy Aiming for total destruction with this one... 35cm weapon on a beetle powered by a 400W brushless!!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing Shocked Shocked Shocked
