Weight... not really, but to give you an idea its roughly halfway between steel and aluminium. The two sheets and motors including shipping were at a cool $150 american from a bot builder in the states, but i'd expect the metal straight from even titanium joe would be a fair bit more than that.
Both sheets are 17 inches by 4.74 inches.. more like strips but a good size for side amour. _________________ ( •_•)
Hmm well today at PnP was interesting and pretty frustrating...
Nick worked out a sweet quick method to extract the magna thin fan motors and gathered at least 10 of them, 3 for my use, but when it came time to buy them they wanted $15 ea
So no thin fan motors were bought, save one glen got, however a pretty cool long thin fan motor was picked up by me.. could be used in a vert spinner or drum bot methinks. _________________ ( •_•)
Well, my compact vert spinner is slowly coming into fruition, with a cad underway and materials ariving shortly, one thing though, welch, could you you take a pic of orbits weapon shaft and all? I'll be using something very similer. _________________ ( •_•)

I think there is a detailed picture of the bearing in Obit's build thread. It's pretty simple, although it needs the right tools to make it accurately. I had some good photos but they seem to have vanished...
Didn't you decide to go with the ball bearings rather than the bronze bush? that will change things quite a bit. That long motor you found yesterday looked pretty good. As long as it is not too fast it will go well in a compact design. It will probably go faster than an EV but gearing it down will not be a problem. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

I think I got the manger or something . I tried the "It's not for cars", the " I don't expect a warantee", the "How about a bulk buy price", the "I already bought them before at $6" ploys, even the " I can buy them all for $6 or none for $15, did you want a sale or not?" ultimatum. He wouldn't even bargain down to $10
Right after that, Glen got a different sales guy and got two motors for $10 each - one of them was a really nice EV-like Bosch motor too! _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Yeah, and then glen got two motors for $20 so its pretty irritating...
I'll look for that pic, but just letting you know nick that i'm still very interested, my new EV should be here soon _________________ ( •_•)

No Problems. Just let me know what features you want, then we can find some parts and decide how best to put them together. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Good stuff, i'll let you know. _________________ ( •_•)
...I had a dream... it involved roadkill with not a vert weapon... but with a pnumatic throwing spike hidden in the wedge... and it would fire through a small hole in it... I'm just thinking... this might be a funky new concept and a different path to take than a common high KE weapon... Besides, I'll need the Pnumatic experience for my yr 12 DT major design project... Flood me with your opinions There seems to be three major tacts at pnumatics in Aus at the moment, high pressure big bore CO2 (marauder), not so high pressure smaller bore longer length (stealth) and not any more but the getto compressed air and bike pumps... better count that one out
I'm guessing though, if you were to directly use the end of the ram as the spike, a massive, possibly hydraulic ram may be needed? _________________ ( •_•)

You need to ask Jake about plan-C - that's pretty much what you dreamt of! For that type of device, you need huge gas flow to get the ram traveling fast enough to d odamage. A big bore would also be handy, but its hard and expensive to get both. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Ah yeah, Aaron has since expained. Hmm lol
Possibly just for a lifter then, but i like the idea of my bot being completly enclosed to all spinner attacks, and the spike can retreat back from harm.
Oh also it wasn't a dream exactly, more a coke caused insomnia . _________________ ( •_•)
