I thought of a high powered spike years ago but droped the idea as i wouldnt like the idea of shoving a long spike through someones expensive electronics or batteries i certainly wouldnt like it done to my own thats also why i never tried to build flame type wheapons .

True, but the immense force you would need to push a spike through steel or thick ali would be far less than the force needed to move the whole robot I would think, resulting in a robot toss (and probably a dint from the impact) instead of a robot skewer . Don't forget, almost any robot design can cause damage to the other robot's electronics, even pushy bots can out push resulting in magic smoke _________________ ( •_•)

Another bot to look up was called Ramstein, I think it was a medium or heavyweight. It had a large ram with a spike on the end that was reasonably effective although I don't recall it winning many fights. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

I hope the spike concept goes ahead, but roadkill we be at our next event as a standard ram bot... just with some "improvements" to before in the material, control and battery compartment. Two day scratch build, if i'm not lazy is how much time i will have, we go on holidays tomorrow morning... _________________ ( •_•)
Well roadkill did really well this event, coming 3rd, my best result ever w00t Fights;
>Bloody Mongral: Being a nother wedge bot, this match was basicaly a pushy match, and i had a chance to test my IBC control in the arena I love it! I won that one by a vote.
>Cobra: Cobra has a ground scraping wedge and two dewalts behind it's push.. and yet time and time again i just owned him XU1's beat overvolted DEWALTS XD Psyke!
>Jolt: OH god was i scared lol. Turns out nick had a issues with his weapon and the wedge was *just* low enough not to get smashed by jolt, won! (somehow lol)
>Orbit: I thought i'd do fairly well here, and did at the start, but turns out a wheel unscrewed and i lost control on one side, allowing andrew to gum up my sides a little... I tapped out.
All in all a great event! Awaiting some videos _________________ ( •_•)
After alot of research, I think i've found out what the black plastic I use is...
http://www.dotmar.com.au/news/200305.htm
Sounds about right... shame i've now run out of it XD.. i'm considering UHMW... _________________ ( •_•)
Well, this version of roadkill will now be retired... The plastic can't take any shock and is unsuited for robot combat... at first the little cracks it had wern't that bad but yesterday revealed what happened to it if it was hit properly... KAPOW!!!
I'll have another roadkill when my titanium arives but till then it'll be last minute robots just so I can fight in the event eh eh. _________________ ( •_•)
Christmas comes but once a year... lol my christmas sucked
Here's the replacement: (sorry for the crap picture)
Roadkill's new wedge will be the hinged piece, the other will be for Ti lust later on and the ev warrior and 18v dewalt... looked appealing at the time (about 3 months ago) XD
That's 5.5mm thick titanium thar BTW eh eh _________________ ( •_•)

Just to let people know, roadkill is alive and well, i've gone completely over it from last event and the damage is alot less than expected. I'm trying to think of what to do with it before our next event! This is new to me, not having to build a bot from scratch for every event
Any suggestions for a simple no radical upgrade to it? It weighs about 8kg at the moment, and I don't really want to make it any heavier, it runs nice and fast at this weight.

I'd make make some suggestings, but I don't want to get owned more than usual . Perhaps a umhw skid under the hinged wedge to stop the frame tipping and lifting the wheels off the ground? _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

That's true, i'll give that a go. Also it's odd, i've been doing a lot of driving practice recently and it no longer does it... maybe it's due to my learning of the fact the IBC give PROPORTIONATE control _________________ ( •_•)
