Whats the problem with saturdays, is it something we can work around? I'd like to get as many people there as possible. Setting up for competitions, IE layout and work space, will make for a good discussion topic and the more input the better.

Ok then, how many people that are coming on saturday would be interested in coming back on the sunday? After all, its my shed and place of busines so I can open the doors whenever I wan't . I may even have the materials for the arena by then, I'm planning a multipurpose arena/welding booth and provided I have the money, at the very least I'll have the frame work done.

Sautrdays are good for me, Sundays are okay, but getting hope late and then having to go to TAFE on Monday is a real drag.

That was the main idea with saturdays, anyone who drives a significant distance has plenty of time to recover after the trip home. The beauty of the Reactor is we can have night time events, events on long weekends and any other time we see fit. Very Happy

Night Time EVENTS!!!

If I get that lights system made up for the reactor, it will be awesome to watch at night .

Some two day events would be great. We could have a lot of fun and it would make our normal events two times better Razz

Good to see more arenas.
Saturdays will always be out for me - due to work.

BTW I've noticed the discussion about travel on Sundays... does everyone really find a 2 hour drive that draining? I'd thought most people would be home around 4pm.

I dont want to start any arguments here, so let me start by saying, this is just my opinion.
From my place on the southside of Brisbane to Kilkivan is 3hrs drive, now working backwards from a 4pm return home, your looking at a 1pm departure from Kilkivan. Say half an hour to pack up all the gear, that puts the final battle at 12:30pm. 4hrs of battling and fixing robots as well as lunch requires a 8:30am start at the latest. Another half an hour to unpack the car and get setup means an 8am arival at Kilkivan. This means I need to leave home at 5am. A 4am wake up on a sunday morning and 12hrs flat out before you get a chance to relax again, for something thats supposed to be fun, sounds like a lot of work to me. Also keep in mind other people don't have the same domestic situations as I do, so the work doesn't stop when they get home.
Don't get me wrong, I'll do it, as will most, but we dont need to do that every time. Very Happy

Prancing Queen hasn't been touched, but it wasn't broken, so it'll be there. Hellbringer needs to be put back together, it'll be there. Scarifier is currently an empty chasis so if its there it won't be moving. And Sidewinder's test frame is driving so it'll be there.
