You posted a pic of a 2 speed ozito on the albem a lil while back and im hoping to find some drills with the same motor in them.

Interm i am going to bunnings today and looking at the ryobi that i saw at kmart and the oxitos and if i cant find a ozito like the one you posted the pic on ill try the $50 ryobi and have a looksee inside it and if its the wrong one ill disconnect a wire inside it and say its not working.

Well im back and with sad news.

I couldent find any 2 speed ozito drills and the ryobi one is 2 speed but has the same motor as a xu1 as i could see inside the display model.

Allso none of the drills i looked at had a xu1 nose on the gearbox as they all had 4 screws behind the chuck where as xu1 drills have 2.

Looks like xu1s for me at the mo unless i get me some 18v dewalts and mounts like glen is getting and maby use one of the spindels they have on the market place.

I did however come back with a decent nifty gas powered self igniting soldering iron Cool

I pretty sure the spindles your refering to only works with the 24V old style Dewalts . . . .

If u are thinking of buying dewalt stuff consider choosing a gearbox with a D shaped output so u can make up the shaft yourself easily and sucure a wheel to this with supports.

I sometimes think about their nu 3 speed and one of the nu 12, 14 volt motors for it. Just looks easy to put together and probably the cheapest way to do it

If i buy dewalts im sticking with the old style for there track record and cos there are mounts avalable and allso the new gearbox is allot harder to mount.

I might mod some xu1 shafts to fit the gmc gearbox i have cos its a d shaft as i think i have a way to overcome having a bearing to support it.

No just made a double gear carrier on the second stage the first stage is still seperate i just have to machine 2mm from the end of the shaft bush under the final gear components to alow it to sit into the gear box more as ive made the gear component drive train 1.8mm thicker then i will have to shim the gap in between the front thrust bearing and the circlip as it will be sticking 2 mm more out of the gear case
