Hey nick! How is slash going? Just off interest, how much power do your gearbox's put out? My lego ones are very weak and on low battery can't overcome the friction from spinning on the spot.

Also i found another 600w brushless for you...

Thought you might be interested... Shocked

I prepped Slash for its first battle today and things are looking promising Smile. I ground down the remains of the faulty disk and ended up with this 3 blade rotor:

The damage it did to a small steel box was impressive - I am really going to fave fun withthis bot! I also reprogrammed the 3rd channel into linear mode; when I hold the switch on the radio slowly ramps up the weapon speed and avoids all the backlash it had before.

I still need to swap over to the faster B16 motors and tougher wheels, but the current Lynxmotion setup are performing OK if a little slowly.

He, He, its just the light or a reflection from the wood desk Slash was resting on. I only finished grinding and sanding the disk less than an hour before the photo.

I just weighed Jolt in at 1.309 Kg - safely under weight and there is another 30 grams to go with the motor swap over. I am thinking about adding a steel tooth to end of each blade to get the weight up to 1.36 again.

(Begin pre-fight boxing style spiel)

Slash has got nothing! Hear me, nothing! You're going down Nick. My beetle is gonna whup ya!

Titanium my ass. That's just rusty steel. Smile

Jolt couldn't kill my robot, and slash won't either. I'll see you in the ring in two weeks, and you better bring Deb coz you're going to need a shoulder to cry on.................

(return to normal behaviour)

We should have a beetle championship, round robin style with 3 or 4 bots. What do you think? I just happened to have some parts and Lindsay gave me the inspiration. So I through a bot together, with $0 spent. But I'll unveil the design later, maybe when I have a photo of it.

They're so small and cute to play with.

Yeah, a round Robin event sounds good! I should have some improvements to Slash finished by then, so your in for a good fight.
