quote:
What you see pictured above is a Chrysler Air Raid Siren, the most powerful siren in the world. It's the size of a car, measuring near 12-feet in length and standing more than 6-feet tall. It also weighs twice as much as today's typical car. This gigantic siren is powered by an 180-HP Chrysler Industrial V-8 HEMI® gasoline engine. The super-duty engine directly drives a three-stage compressor that blows 2,610 cubic feet of air a minute, at nearly 7 PSI, into a giant siren rotor. The compressed air screams through the chopper and out through six giant horns with an exit velocity of 400 miles per hour. The result is an incredibly loud 138 dB sound (measured 100 feet from the siren). The loudness of this siren is unmatched by any other warning device ever sold, ever. It's also considerably louder than the largest steam whistle or horn. As if that were not dramatic enough, the whole unit, engine and all, slowly rotates one and one-half times a minute on its iron turntable base.

thankx jeff, i put the build thread up months back but sorry if u missed it man.

I dont wanna scrap it as i pured eveyrthing into this thing, one idea i had was to replace my sorta dodgy mounting job of sprocket on wheels with 4 of the wheels oatley sells and get drive train working again, batteries in only and rs80d and mount a chair at back (as theres a heap of room) and make it a ride on thing to have fun with.

Its now just base, wheels and drives though

what exactly did u want from it jeff?

RS-80 + ride on = not such a good idea me thinks.
unless you seriously nerf it with current limiting

nah its cool as jake,

it has 4 300 watt setups so enough powa easily, when it was working it had at least 40kg abouts of jaw/frameage/actuators etc on it including me standing on the back of it and it moved me easily no probs. Only thing was heatsink was a little warm but theres temp sensors and shiz so no sweat there.

Turning may be interesting but i just gotta make sure that i dont turn on the spot and sorta slowly move into the turn so theres less stress on eveyrthing.

Also gonna try if i cna get drive train et going again is a actuator powered seat lifter so teh rider can get raised up higher Very Happy Razz

Actually, I think you guys are under estimating the RS80D. A few US & UK guys are running them in there Heavyweights....

@Angus: with 4 x 24v WW motors, we managed to carrry 400+Kg of junk, batteries and people on Vertex when it was WW motor powered...
