Xu1 Trigger Controllers

In aid of the woodbotics class (and our own hip pockets (them IBC's cost $$$ lol)) we have been doing some work to make some nice drill trigger controllers ,that give proportional controll and are quick and easy to make.

here is an image showing basically what it looks like

basically what we have done to the trigger is remove the spring, the forward /reverse lever, top cover over the forwards reverse switch. On the switch itself you need to file off the bump that holds the lever in place. We then glued a threaded rod into the trigger for the actuator to mount on.

The blue thing on top of the servo is "the actuator"
it has a cam in it that operates the forwards/reverse switch and also moves the trigger.

we also made this thing to mount the trigger.

The astute reader will also have noticed that its entirley possible to have 2 triggers mounted off the one servo now while this wont let you double the current it will let you run 2 motors (thing 4wd bot thaughts ;->)

problems
This thing needs a servo travel of a bit less than 180 degrees to work properly. we wound up hacking the ass off an old AM set to get the travel

we dont think most modern radios would need this level of hacking

I have a small amount of urathane left and will make up sets till I run out for people to try out not sure of how many this will be. If you are interested in a set let me know.

free till they run out.
one set per customer though so everybody gets a go
(2 actuators and mounts)

check your servo travel out first though
