Since this robot isn't in the true Prancing Queen spirit I have decided to change the name. Prancing Queen was supposed to be a doll with a spinning dress. I can't even fit the doll on this version. So now I will call it Fury

I'd assume you'll be sharpening those front box section prongs into points so they're groundscraping, but i'd recommend putting their end *just* behind where the weapon blade can make contact, it means wedges won't get a chance to get past the weapon. Apart from that it's looking pretty insane, looking foward to seeing what kind of gyro this thing pulls!

Thats a disc I liberated from work. It's only 3kg and 38cm in diameter. The disc I want made should be 4.5kg and 45cm in diameter but I'm leaving it till last so I can see exactly what weight it needs to be. The reason I don't want to use this disc is because I measured its hardness and it's only about 253 brinell. It does spin nicely so far.

Looks mean, How will you protect the motor? I'd be really worried about Jolt's reach with everything exposed like that

The motor is 150mm off the floor and Jolt aims to hit robots that are less then 75mm, so our weapons will hit well before he hits the motor. Plus I also have a 1m bar drawn up for the robot so my reach would be longer.
And as I keep telling the NSW guys, I am never going to redesign my robots in case I fight Jolt since the chances of that actually happening are very small.

Awww, come down and play at the next Battleshed - we would all like to see the new bots.

Not to pour cold water on the design, but I'd personally be worried about spinning up a 1m bar with a scooter motor; the spin up time would be terrible unless the bar was light. Stick with the disk IMHO. Are you going to make the one with hammers, it looked pretty cool in the CAD render?

Well you keep talking about only needing really thin top armour because there arn't any axe robots to worry about so I'm just saying the same sort of thing.
Not worried about spin up time. More interested in the look on peoples faces when they see a 1m bar spinning on a 30cm robot.

so bring it down to Battleshed already!

I would be more worried about landing on the motor or it hitting arena walls, those magnets wouldn't take much to break. Looks like a fun bot, I would love to see it in action too.

Frame and motors done

Body panels are glued on. Just need to fill it full of electricals. Should be driving around next weekend.

I got it driving around today but I found that the IFI's are too tall for the robot. The disc would rub on the signal wires which wouldn't be very good. I could either raise the disc and weapon motor or I could buy a new speedo for the drive. That the moment I don't really care as I'll just be using the robot as a wedge.

If all your running for the drives is two drill motors at anywhere upto 24 volts i would recommend a scorpion xxl, there reallly tiny and work really nice. Would fit in perfect under everything
