I am sorry to say that Hellcat will not be ready for the Brisbane event.
The ram I have is turning out to be just too large for a feather weight and I have run out of time/money to source a replacement. _________________ Get Some!!!

Now that the test setup that was bolted onto Hellbringer for the Brisbane event worked OK I will now get started on the feather weight.
I will need to replace the guage and the 20oz CO2 tank as they both took hits from Fragmentor during a demo match (while imobilised). Since the guage was taken from an old air compressor that will be easy. The CO2 tank is not ruptured but has a 2-3mm deep gash in the side and while I did use it again on Sunday it will not be used again except maybe as a low pressure buffer or drink bottle. Obviously I will need to actualy put some armour over the tank as those things arn't cheap.
I have just bought a new ram off Ebay that while being of the same make and model as the old one has only a 50mm bore and 100mm stroke and weighs about 1.6kg compared to the 4.5kg larger ram. Because this ram is smaller I will be switching to a 12oz CO2 tank which I have calculated will give me 115 flips at 7bar.
I am still looking for drive motors and gearboxes and the money to pay for them so I havn't started building the chassis yet. In a couple of weeks I should have enough money for a couple of GB42 gearboxes from
www.robotpower.com
but until then I will continue planing the chassis layout. _________________ Get Some!!!

I havn't started building yet I am still collecting parts.
I have decided to modify my old SS2 gearboxes to take a 550 size drill motor. This is primarily a cost saving issue and since I have not had any problems with the gearboxes yet, only the HTI motors they where designed for (which are no longer available with the correct pinion) I am going to stick with them.
The new ram and CO2 bottle has arrived. The new ram is exactly the size I wanted and weighs about 1.7kg. The 12oz CO2 bottle had a lengthy delay in customs as the place I bought it from did not include an accurate invoice attached to the outside of the package.
I have been playing around with layouts for the robot and had decided on setting up the buffer the same as in Marauder to save space. This would mean attaching a second fitting onto the side of the fire extinguisher bottle. I tried to order a suitable fitting that I could weld onto the bottle as well as several other bits and pieces from McMaster-Carr but received an e-mail a few days later saying that they are now only accepting orders from their "most valued" customers overseas and that I don't fit into this catagory. I then sent them an abusive e-mail in return and didn't get a reply.
I do however have a brass fitting that is usable and I will play around with that this weekend.
And last of all I have deceided that if Philip is too chicken to try that LiPoly pack in a feather then I will. _________________ Get Some!!!

I have got the buffer finnished and the gearboxes have been modified. I am now trying a few layouts:
The plywood shows the rough size that I want to end up with. _________________ Get Some!!!
