I like the look of that red version. No frills, just KISS. And for some reason the hammer looks way more menacing on it lol. Laughing

The frame has finished being welded and the primer is drying on the top side of the frame. Painting should be finished during the week and I'll start on the polycarb next weekend.

I just noticed when comparing the picture to the CAD that I welded the front chain guard on in the wrong spot. On well, its too late now, the pretty red paint is on

Well spotted. There are bits above the motors that arn't in the CAD. I got a little excited with cutting and welding and I guess I started welding extra bits on without looking at the drawings. At least I know it'll be 100 times stronger then the old verson.

And the U shaped bit doesn't actually touch the hammer mechanism. It just sits about 1.5mm away from the chain on all sides and prevents it from jumping off the large sprocket. I actually welded it together with the axe setup in the robot to makes sure it was all aligned correctly before and after I used the metal glue. Duct taped stuck in layers over the chain and the channel hammered over it made the 1.5mm gap between the channel and the chain. With a bit of luck I'll remember what order to reassemble it.

im very impressed, this things looking so very awesome

your machines are always great to watch and always well done and cool looking

just get rid of the ghey thin polycarb, any descent spinner will mangle it in a second, get ali or something mann

besides that super cool, needs interchangable pick axe (drools)

That Ghey Polycarb has served these guys well. VL got a nice direct hit on Sidewinder and the poly carb just flexed as VL flipped Sidewinder over. VL's assult on Hell Cat @ MM7 just slashed the polycarb (nice 4inch gashes looked nice Very Happy) and flipped it over, but it didn't hit anything vital and it didn't buckle and mangle like steel and aluminium does... Sounds like the armour did it's job, protecting the innards...

Application of material is just as important as the material itself. I have a lot more faith in polycarb after seeing the abuse the Kerison's have put it through in their various bots.

No sense of style, that's their problem.
Smoked poly, barely visable red frame, red neons, red sparkly decals and a big hammer........ mmmmmmm Cool
