so what, every robot witha certain weopon is apparntly a ciopy these days, every crusher is a ripoff of razer or kan openeor and every flipper is a rip off of chaos two every durm bot copies helois etc.
Its all so much crap, just build a cool looking robot and whatever weopon it has if it does well then good deal _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

LOL your right wayde XD i realised how gay that design was and instead migrated on to something significantly more hardcore.
400mm spinner bar, 1.5kg series wound fan motor 1.5:1 reduction. 3-4mm steel armour.

Man i love that design so much, my next robot design was to use up a heap of parts i have and was simply a copy of Miso and the 30 pount bersion ori garoshi, (www.diginati.com for pics of miso) and is basically a very wide robot with a HUGE spinning bar and a wedge at the rear so can spin up and wedge then spin and smash.
Now Glens beat me to it , mine will look like a copy but ill try and make mine as different and orginal as possible.
damn u glen now ill look like a idea stealer. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

you are a design stealer, first you rip off my idea for a vertical spinner, a saw, a 4 wheel drive crusher thing for my DT project now this
XD
but i did get an old magna motor to use as a mockup. alas the series motor will live in something one day. but now its invertible so huzzah.
btw nick if you read this is there any prospect of getting 40cm of that 8mm bar stock from jolts original weapon. how much did that set you back anyway. _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

Gosh damn yoru so full of crap
Tis all good as i have a funky idea that uses up a heap pf parts i have and stuff and is very weird and different and may just be effective to (or not) _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

a most productive day. but first a story XD i was supposed to have some uni camp over the next 3 days but seeing as though robowars is approaching fast that can get stuffed. and i came up (accidentally) with the most perfect excuse to get out of it when i went out to start working on raiden. basically stepped on a piece of 1" (literally, i did measure it) steel swarf that was sharp as all hell and managed to wedge its way so far in my foot i needed to use tweezers to pull it out. it wasnt a splinter either it was a full on chunk of steel. might go get a tetanus booster tonight lol eek. WEAR SHOES OUTSIDE. when i find it ill post the picture XD
but enough crap. heres what i did.
1) cut out the first two box section weapon supports. theres gunna be two layers so i need more box section. i cut out alot of baseplate which was oversized so significant weight saving there. and getting the angle right on the end of that box section took almost an hour per piece. it needed to be angled in all 3 dimensions lol... painful.
2) cut out the front covers, doesnt really cover anything just covers up the welds for the weapon box section so they wont get busted up.
3) battery packs. spaced like nicks but they are gunna be made from 10mm poly and then bolted into the wedges to save space and try shift the C of G backwards...

I think a blade worked out at about $10 and I still have a chunk if you want it. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

It's yours, when would you like to have it?
BTW: I like that idea for the battery packs; great cooling and weight distribution! _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

whenever our paths next cross
thats the plan for the batteries, trying to offset all the weight from the heavy spinner setup on the front. hopefully the batteries and rear armour will be enough to make it drive able.
ill get cracking on those batteries this weekend. im sure ive got enough polycarb but i might have to grind down my spade bit a tad as the batteries are a little bit loose in there holes. _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

well after a lame boating weekend at anguses (whos boat is so ghey XD) i did manage to obtain a secondary weapon for raiden. plenty more hardcore looking. and plenty more weight at the edge too.
