Portable Petrol Generators

Interestling Bunning now sells a Portable Petrol Generator for $98!
This is a GMC branded one, rated at 240v 750watts peak, 550watts continues. Its also will supply 12 volts at 8 amps.

This seems damn cheap! Dumhed bought one and we were playing around with it, seems pretty good, not incredibly quiet but still good.
We connected up a 500 watt floodlight to give it a nice load, then just to see what happedend tried two 500 watt lights Very Happy It handled them ok, just the engine note was a bit lower hehe, also it was hard to tell if they were each dimmer than one by itself.

Anyway for $98 you cannot go wrong! All those electric go-kart ideas people have can now become hyrbid powered for cheap! Cool

Sure, not sure that shipping on a 1983 VW from the UK would be cost effective though Confused

ahh, that does make a difference Smile

Also, I have a 1600VW engine sitting around somewhere. It kinda seems dumb to use an air cooled engine in a boat, since there's so much cooling available, but it does simplify things a bit.
