QLD robot display
We might be able to do a display in Brisbane. It would have to mainly be a low KE display, ie no arena.
The young people at church regularly get together and do fun nights such as movie nights, laser skirmish, video games, bon fires and the like. There are about 100 teenagers and young adults. We should be able to pick up a few new builders.
David, teens pastor, is an ex-yank. He is familiar with Battle Bots and is quite interested in what we do. Latter on we may be able to do some build courses during school holidays. Who knows, we might pick up lots of new builders.
How many QLD builders would demo their bots?
OT Nic might be able to pick up some laser skirmish bookings. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

Philip what dates do you propose for the demonstration ?
I could also bring my mesh panels iff needed to make aproximatly 4mtre x 4mtrex1.2m high barrier arena for low KE bots so we know that people wont get their feet run over and wont be able to walk in whilst the robots are driveing around.
Might be able to organise something. When? even if i can't come i could prolly just give you a bot for someone to play wiht. _________________ Steven Martin

I'll have a talk with Dave and see what he says about a time frame. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

Dave is very hard to get a hold of. I grabbed him for thirty seconds today inbetween appointments. He likes the idea of a robot fight on a Saturday.
He also would like to have a "how to build them" class during the September school holidays. We could feature them on a thirty second ad at the end of our program on Briz31. Dave could be talking to the camera asking people to attend a free fun type of week. We could end up with hundreds of kids in teams building a robot. These would need to have limited weapon strength, but, if people get the bot bug, they could go on to build competitive machines.
There are probably a stack of blokes with old cordless drills at church who would be willing to give them to the youth group. We would need to come up with a bunch of radios.
Anyhow I will try to tackle Dave one day and nail down a time when we can have a display. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems
I think I can pull some 2 channel radios (transmitter only) for $10
... I'll see what I can do (if it can be called sponsorship) to get complete radios DIRT cheap....will be in touch _________________ There is no such thing as excessive carnage.

Iff i can get some more fiberglas and resin i might be able to knock up a few casings so people can just put grub screws in the drills and then push them into the mounts. Glen managed to slip a caseing off one of his gear boxes so if i grease up the gear box instead of sanding it i should be able to use one as aremovable internal mold .Once a new gear box is slid in its just a mater of puting the clutch plate washer back on the front with two screws and its permanent .
can still get transmitters for $10.... the whole sets are now back up to $88ea or $80ea bulk buy _________________ There is no such thing as excessive carnage.

Which Tx's were these? I *may* in the future start a robot combat club at my school... _________________ ( •_•)
They are Hitech Ranger 2 channel stick Tx's..... not great but if they are only going into rambots then they will be ok used in conjunction with failsafes
Not recommended with bots that use active weaponry - for the glitch factor. _________________ There is no such thing as excessive carnage.
