I am developing bot envy. You are setting the design bar very high. Good on you.

That titanium shaft looks like some snail cams I'd like to make. Unfortuantly I only know about casting, so I'll be watching how you'll get them machined so I can see how its done. And the machining price of corse.

I think you mean 4-axis. You can do it on a 3-axis machine but you would need to stop and re-set for a new opperation to cut those grooves and square section.

ah yes i stand corrected, foward/back side to side up/down and then rotation would be needed.

have you got any pics of the jaw setup itself

Today I ordered two solid carbide endmills. And two drills (non solid carbide).

Poof! ~190 AUD gone...

The axle design is altered a little bit...

It's a 3-axis cnc-mill at the university and I don’t have to pay to use it.
I will tell you how the machining went when it's done.

I pray to God that I won't f*** up and ruin the only piece of suitable lump of titanium I got. If I do, then you might not hear from me any more... Rolling Eyes

I don't have a cad picture of the "jaw setup" yet.

the person who posted it can edit it by pressing edit.

Suggestion, Make the first one out of Al, a block like that from emco would be ~$20 i think.

(personally i dont think you would bend al but eh thats just me)

After the bot is running, make a second one out of Al with all the improvements you have thaught of, repeat untill you stop improving the design. *then* make the titanium one
