RIP Snak Masheen
Crying or Very sad
SM got pretty much totaled today, I think coming 3rd or 4th after loosing to orbit.

SM vs Vish:
Was pretty worried about visceral and its new improved frame, but to my surprise the hits, though doing nothing to his frame, tore up his top cover! Shocked Bunnings 3mm is shite! He died and I won on a KO.

SM vs Stealth:
Well it was bound to happen eventually!
Laughing Got a few good licks into stealth before he got under the blade and flipped sm in one shot. Was cool that the weapon had enough torque to bounce the bot along the arena floor leaving a trail of dents however wasn't enough to self right and people were telling me to stop. Laughing

SM vs Jolt:
Was freaking out about this, and for good reason! Jolt likes tearing up other spinners...
Anyway, my strategy was "let nick kill himself" so I droved around dodging him, and waited till he hit a wall before attacking. Worked pretty well but jolt spins up so fast that we got a few major blade to blade impacts. the bis has a large scary looking slice in it from one of the collisions and there's flat spots on the teeth, probably where I hit his tool steel!
Laughing . At one point sm rode up over jolt and did a dance on it, and as jolt got flipped the blade clipped one of his drive motors and tore up a tire.
After match carnage involved a destroyed weapon motor, one damaged side drive as well as over half of sm's welds cracked apart!!! Shocked

SM vs Orbit:
SM was doomed from the start really, not only is orbits blade longer resulting on him hitting first, but the side drive of sm broke pretty fast, resulting in near no control. Having no real welds on one side mattered a big too! My stratargy was to avoid his blade but that failed pretty fast resulting in blade on blade. Orbit tore apart the front triangles, ripped a chunk out of the pulley and belt and even hit the bushing! One of the bigger hits resulted in something dying (batteries again I believe) so I tapped...

Rumble:
I stuck some smaller batteries into snak masheen to enter it into the rumble, which was pretty cool. By that point I was pretty annoyed with how crap aluminium frames are so people might have noticed me hurl it across the arena lol. It started out well and sm got some revenge on jolt for breaking the frame so bad before the weapon totaly seized up. I did some pushing then that problem drive motor stalled and started smoking so I decided to call it quits.

Where to from here?
I'm done with this design. Vert spinners are ok but I wanna try other things. Improvements will by far be a better frame material. I can see now why Nick is opting for a tapped frame construction. Ali welds suck!

Some pics of the damage snak masheen took yesterday:

Side smashed in by orbit and jolt:

Just some of the cracked welds by jolt:

Belt, bushing and pulley damage from orbit. Also note where the triangulation used to be:

Smashed pulley close up:

Notice the tears jolt put into the disk!
Shocked :

And the final damage pic:

Aluminium? Stuff that! Shocked

Probably, I like vert spinners and all but its the same old story, when they come up against another big spinner... bad things happen. Sad
The undercutter will be a better all round bot methinks. Smile

Alas, Snak Masheen was so young. He fought hard, but didn't pull through his last battle. He will be missed.

I'm quite tempted to grab those and make something super dumb Smile
I'm not sure when I'll next have time, but if no one else has a specific use of them right now, I'll take them for sure.
