parts list for beginners
seeing as though alot of people often ask for what parts they should use i thought i would just put up a parts list of items that have been tested in battle and that people would recommend. im sure alot of the newer members to this sport would appreciate it so here we go.
LED -
12v amber and green "LED pilot light" part number 53--99974NV from super cheap auto. comes in a metal case which you bolt somewhere on your robots frame etc..
POWER SWITCH -
SPST Illuminated Rocker Switch - Green
Contact rating: 12VDC 30A, illumination: 12V Lamp, overall size: 30.6 x 19.2 x 44.72mm. Cut Out: 12 x 10.8mm. Clearance: 35.5mm. Mounting: Threaded Bush.
Cat No. P7726
A$4.98
DRILLS -
KK2 9.6v drill from supercheap auto
XU1 12v drill from bunnings
G-force drill from mitre 10
n.b. if you plan on over volting these motors 100% be careful as some batteries such as Nicads and NiMHs will have a much higher than stated output voltage, example a 24v pack of NiMHs will have a starting voltage of 28v which if your running the 12v XU1 drills will cause them to blow of their brushes. although they will run fine of a pair of 12v slas in series.
WHEELS -
bunnings red wheel. 95mm diameter and 30mm wide with a 5/8" plastic insert. cost approx. $4
