Yep, the coolest robot is more along the line of "Damn, I wish I owned that robot"

Nah. That's no where near as much fun as chasing people through the streets with a mobile Doll that has a dress rotating at 2500rpm Cool No cat, dog or child would be left unchased Laughing

HELLO?? What planet were you on? Laughing Jolt might have lost that match after I flipped over on the wall, but Bane's axe was shattered and ripped apart and it had two or three good holes right thru it's armour. Jolt had a small chip on one tooth and a 2mm deep gash on one side. Bane put up an OK fight, but Jolt was definitely winning up until I hit the flip button.

Just like to say a few things. I don’t wont to be petty about this and obviously everyone has their own point of view another example of Aaron setting me up. Smile

In the Jolt Bane fight Bane did take 5 hits on the body, 3 of which penetrated the 1.5 mm food grade stainless on the front.
I consider these trivial cosmetic battle scars but the rules would rate this as minor.
They have no effect on Banes strength or performance and I don’t think I will even bother to patch the 3 holes.
For Jolt to get to the batteries he would have had to make a huge hole in the stainless then get through the bike rim inside it then reach through the air armour then avoid or go through the steel battery box frame to get to the jiffy box with the batteries.

The weapon-to-weapon hit was amazing; I had a spare axe just in case something happened but I never imagined a direct weapon to weapon hit with Jolt.
I concede that that constitutes minor damage but I still had the axe handle and Bob and the Good Old Boys reckoned that was good enough to teach Jake and Elwood a lesson so there was no way I was giving up. Smile

Technically the weapon was damaged but it still worked.

Jolts damage and demise from my point of view.

After Nick worked out which way he was pointing after his initial spin up and his initial rush past me into the wall for no apparent reason I elected to just sit and spin.

Jolt charged and Banes Axe at full speed hit him hard enough to send him off at a tangent into the wall.

Nick concedes the external blemish but not the cracked weld, I did notice or was that crack already there?

The other aspect of that fight that may be open to misunderstanding from Nick’s brief description was the flip.

Jolt didn’t just hit the wall; it was rebounding off Bane and was already on its side before it hit the wall.

Both bots were spinning clockwise, Jolts weapon dug in and stoped and Banes momentum threw him back.

Jolt was very unlucky to loose not because he finished up greasy side up but because Banes ESC crashed only seconde after he was disabled. To predict how the Judges would have scored it if the fight went the distance seems a bit pointless to me, anything can happen and its not over till its over.

So, a rematch then? Razz

BTW, the weld was cracked already; it' cracked twice despite Jake's excellent TIG welding and I figure its not worth welding again

Would love a rematch, was very disappointed that you let Singularity get past you in Brisbane.

He He, I finally caught up with Singularity at the last event - it's funny how you sometimes never get drawn against some bots. In Brisbane and at the first Annhilator, I mostly got drawn against NSW and QLD bots; the match with Bane is only the second time our bots have faced each other directly.

I want to see a test with Marauder/Devastator against a *full* ~13Kg of weight.

Flipping little bits of wood or tires about looks cool, but I.G. or Scoopy both make a nice mess of non robotic bits too.. Smile
