Radios mainly
G'day, My name is David Hodge, I'm a year 12 student and loved watching the robot wars shows. I looked at getting into it a few years ago but i couldn't find any competitions in Australia.
Anyway...
I assume i'm correct in thinking you work off the FRA rules to a greater or lesser extent, yes?
If so are there any Australian specific changes i should be aware of before i start thinking about designs?
For example radio frequencies? The FRA rules state 40MHz but i thought in Australia RC was at either 27MHz or 36MHz
Also once a robot is built, whats the procedure for registering for competitions etc.
I'm sure i'll have more questions as this idea progresses, but thats all for now.
Thanks

welcome dude,
well as far as frequencies go nobody really cares in short, like u see radios in robots round Aus from 29mhz to 2.4ghz spectrum units.
as far as registering for an event is simply put a post up saying im prob gonna come to an event and just rock up.
We have in sydney area a local backyard event once every 1 1/2 -2 months and theres usually like 2 major events (like interstate and HUGGEE) every year. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics
