im not that worried about weight, should easily be under.. also it gives some sort of protection incase it get hit underneath which is highly likely if a lift is mistimed and such..

its actually a crazy glen idea, so i cant take much credit for it other then actually trying it Razz . but yeah its 4 stages with a ring gear in each drill case, 3 pins are in the existing screw holes to keep it all centered and the 2 plates clamp it all together nicely, seems to be a pretty good way to do it if you dont have the tools to make one like glen's srimech motor.

getting there slowly... just need to wire it up and see if it all works Confused

i put some little rollers on the arms to help it drive while lifted which also act as castors when not lifted so it drives really smooth.
yes i like my photos, what ya gonna do about it Razz

hah yeah yeah ill get around to it... im over grinding and welding atm

yeah well i sorta painted it then welded the castors on not realising they were too high so had to bend the front of the wedge down Rolling Eyes plus the shell was epically rusted and cbf grind it all back.. and had no paint left to fix it up so just left it

Enough of this boring wedge/lifter non sense.. time to work on something much more entertaining..

Oxycut order finally was finished only 15 days later Mad
all seems to be in order. time to start welding the frame together and getting it all running.

well managed to fight through the hot day and get some work done on misfortune..
frame is all welded up, some welds could be better but ill fix that up on a cooler day Confused

this time I made sure that the frame was perfectly square. unlike last attempt where it was about 1mm off causing the bearings to not run true.
the extra effort was worth it, now I'm worried about the spin down time Razz

ahh gotta love the unbalanced beater.. another thing ill fix this time

well seeing as there isn't as many spinner events this year i thought i best take my time and get everything perfect on misfortune to make the most of the events.
thanks to russell for kindly making some drive mounts up for me, they look great.
-Now to just mount everything
-tidy up all the welds
-make up a belt tensioner
and then its just about done.

Hmm bisalloy lives up to its name for rusting very fast, after about a week it leaves a rather annoying rusty dirty powder everywhere Confused

I don't think i can get the internals any more compact Laughing still got a light and switch will be going in the small gap between the drives Confused

Eh its gonna take a lot of luck to do well.. i mean robots like $500 worth in parts and it'll be up against robots in the several thousand in parts.

haven't really spoken to the guy much but he seems to know what he is doing, various pics around somewhere of the frame welded together epically, aint gonna fall apart thats for sure

Be interesting to see how it goes, has the potential i guess just needs alot of time and effort and money put into it

well can't say things went very well for misfortune at moto 2011.
drawing the new sloth first fight *facepalm*

vid explains it all: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150184307422067

i guess not being the one whom designed it and not knowing the reasons for certain things being designed the way they are, makes it hard to drive it how it should be.
there was a reason it was designed with a big arse wedge on the back Rolling Eyes
