you might want to think about angling the sides somewhat and perhaps some bracing.
Big flat sheets get bent pretty easy ;->

Perhaps also think about trimming down the steel in the base at the front (if you have weight issues) and definatly look at putting some sort of angle or the like across the base behind the motors to stiffen that up.

That design is very similar to Cheese Schredder...

The biggest issue you will have is all the weight being down the back, and when you accelerate, the wedge will lift right off the ground. Which is rather annoying when your weapon is a wedge to wedge the opponent around with and you can't wedge them.

You can shift the drive wheels back further, this can help with the weight balance, but you either have the make the wedge angle more shallow or go bigger wheels, each having it's own pro's and con's.

I'd also take onboard what Jake says, square sides are bad. They are the #1 food for spinners. Cheese Schredder has been very lucky in the fact that we had enough weight to have 5mm aluminium side with 12mm rubber bolted onto it, but I'd still be worried with the power of the modern spinner.

I'm assuming your going this type of design because you want invertibility, so I thought I'd link you some other robots that have wedges, but are also invertible, with different designs to the one you have drafted up in Rhino

http://buildersdb.com/botpics/1813.jpg - It won't wedge when upside down, but it can still drive, which means your still in the game.
http://buildersdb.com/botpics/2489.jpg - Angled sides galore, makes it harder for the spinners and gives you more internal space to put the weight over the drive train to keep that wedge on the ground
http://buildersdb.com/botpics/3441.jpg - A parallelagram design, you could go 2WD or 4WD and have a pushy bot that works both ways and you should still have a fair bit of internal space. I personally think this is one of the most effective beginner designs. It's not a box, it's not a wedge, it's invertible and it works Razz
http://buildersdb.com/botpics/60.jpg - Okay, not quite invertible and probably not the easiest to build, but a very rounded design is hard for most bots to attack. A possible design for you to look at, even if you don't plan on using it.

Anyway, I hope this gives you some useful information Smile
