Ok getting started on the minibot. Panhead?

Pretty simple, using an XU1 angle grinder, as it's the cheapest grinder skin in Australia - $45 at bunbuns. Two drill motors and some red wheels. Hold it ...

Right, getting back into it.

Forum is a little dead, but the group chat is not a place for long posts...might have to start a youtube channel Smile

Memory is a little hazy for the 2019 events, doi ...

I think the 30A would have been too small for that scooter motor anyway, that 250W is continuous - they ...

Battle of Southbank,

Done some last minute work before this event. Pot Head was going to be underweight so I was thinking of doing a mini bot for him but wasn't sure if I'd have a driver for it. Th ...

I've had a weapon idea playing around in my head that would consist of a grinding disc with a ferrocerium rod feeding into it. Have this in some sort of dragon or unicorn head so that it vomits firey ...

Trying to answer what I can in order.

The ant-weight starter kit is a really good start for motors and ESC's - I wouldn't worry about the nanotwos. If you want to go real cheap and nasty there are ...

Yeah moving the center of gravity with some extra steel is a nice reliable low tech option if it'll fit in the design.

I don't think that servo would work, 35kg/cm of torque would only give you 3.5 ...

Yeah my 4 motor drive bot would pull over 100A at peak, XT60's handle it fine. Just don't use low quality cables - I used 12G cable from supercheap and melted the wires before the connectors! 12G hobb ...
