*looks at weight of robots and dies of shock*
Dont worry I died in a good way. Got myself some digital scales (only up to 5kg). But anyway Tactical Strike(the bot name the rammer being Tactical the twack Strike) has be weighed.
Tactical came in a 4.2kg missing the front wedge(as seen in pic), side skirts, ESC, wires and some bolts.
As I was allowing for it to be 7.5kg that gives me at least 2.5kg for front wedge\side skirt armor and thats nice to know! Should be able to get some good armor with that.
Strike came in at 3.5kg missing the ESC, bolts, wires again good as I was allowing 6kg.
That gives around 2kg for the blades to weld onto the outer shell(3mm steel) so im very happy with that. Hopefully fit in a small wedge as well for some basic defence from ramming.
Very happy with that part just hope it all keeps going so well _________________ Team KO

Thanks for putting the pics up glen.
finale weight of robots is
Strike - 3.86
Tactical - 4.75
So thats the full bots just missing the teeth for strike and wedge/ skirts for tactical.
Should get this under weight easy,
Both drive as planned lol. strike is impossible to drive in a straight line due to the motors so close but getting a nice speed when spinning even if a bit unbalanced. Tactical drives fast and is easy to control. only worry will be its ability to push another robot but im sure if it gets under one it shall manage even if a tad slow and I don't mind that. battery's and ibc handle it easy though motor do get warm fast so ill have to watch that.
So thats that just need to finish last few things and its set.
Here we come robowars _________________ Team KO

hey tim what are those banebots gearboxes like?
Are they just fancy drill gearboxes or better gears? _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

I've got something that would work really well in Strike, will bring it to RoboWars to show you Tim _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

Thanks for that glen.
The gearboxs? No idea at this point, ask me after the event.
Any ideas to make strike hit harder ill look into heh but for this event its a good start.
Only thing left to do if add some foam, wire up safety swich and light to both bots and last decorate it.
Going with army theame heh.
Camo tape for the bots and yowie suit for me. And who ever the other driver is ill throw some camo on :p.
On that note if someone is going and wants to drive the spinner (ill admit theres not much to it and all it dose is spin) there welcome to so if anyone knows someone let me know. I have someone for march but not robowars. _________________ Team KO

does it matter if its a fellow competitor.
Ill drive if you want, should be a bit of fun
The banebots r a mixed bag, some poeple have had numerous issues with them but some people have had no problems, Daniel and Andrew have used them in Devastator and Hellcat and they worked fine at their rated voltage.
I have 4 with banebots wheels in orbit, got some jaycar motors which pump out some more torque then the stock motors and they have worked fine so far.
I replaced all bolts with cap head style (use allen key to do it up etc) as the bolts that come with require a phillips head and can strip easily, generally add a nice layer of lithium grease of wd40 to keep everything running real smooth. Bearing blocks to support the shaft
Only issue so far for me was the bearing blocks last event were not supported due to lack of time they were just sitting in there not bolted to anything and on the huge backflip against dylon the downward force on the back left wheel was enough to crack the front bearing plate where the shaft comes out but with the shaft supported and bearing blocks bolted solid it should prevent that from happening again.
As long as the motors r not run past stock voltage it should be generally pretty descent. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

No idea but 500 sounds right. The wheels do 900 on paper and are about same distance apart as wheel size so in "theory" it would spin at 900....
But the wheel prob do more like 800-850 and there is a huge amount of drag as they spin and the robot is not very balanced so yea 500 in the end sound right.
Oh and so long as my scale is not stuffed end weight of Strike is around 5.4kg
Tactical is 6.8kg so both came in well under weight. _________________ Team KO
