While looking for a job, a friend asked me if I can use html to update a web page. I have just been looking at a tutorial for the last 20 minutes. It looks straight forward. The company already has a template in place and the headings, text and images just need updating each month.

Is it as simple as it seems or am I missing something?

It depends - HTML for a simple static page is easy, but after you get into anything remotely cutting-edge you really need to study up on it. If the page includes java, css Flash or many other web standards you can waste a heap of time and not produce any results.

Bottom line (for any job) get a scope of work, get the right tools for the work, get them to test and approve the results, get an agreed time and payment schedule.
