no it would be fine aslong as you have bracketing to keep it all straight against impacts but it woudl be better with maby 5mm thats a little stronger but in my few bots exp its better to have a frame even if its made up of 2mm angle ali with rivits its still stronger than it just being slaped together as the frame helps distribute impacts better for instance if you watch the match with tse against basilisk (me vs nick) you will see that tse took a fair few hits before it fell apart it probably wouldent have fallen apart if i had of made sure that the armor was bolted better (i hadent tightened the bolts since i put the pannels back on) and if i had of double nutted the bolts but yeha thats in the past and its time to avoid them nasty looking bar ends of his damn his cheaky ness. oh and btw nick you could have strengthen them even more with the addition of a top piece that is connected to those ends so you bolt through the botom plate the bar its self and the top plate you know what i meen? _________________ as a shadow is seen and not heard i am here

Bracketing?
im just going to have a 30bye30cm base plate with 8mm thick 70mm wide ali on all sides welded in each corner and welded all round the bottom to the base plate with 2 6mm lenghts welded across the middle to the base plate about 50mm apart. _________________ Tim Team Reaper.
