Issue with software dual layer disk

I recently bought a copy of Sloidwroks and cannot get it to run the setup file, the dvd drive just makes a lot of noise, the egg timer appears and then disappears and nothing happens.

Ive never had to use a dual layer disk so im not sure if its just my dvd drive which is not cut out for running the disk...is that possible? as it takes a long time to do open folders on the disk etc. Although the driver is specified as being able to run DL disks (i think most/all dvd drivers are)

Would it be better if i rip the contents off the disk first? would i need some dvd software to pull the stuff off a dvd disk right? because it doesn't want to copy the stuff across.

Hmmm how old is your DVD drive? I would think it may be the culprit. Have you tried any other PCs?

the driver is specified as being able to run DL disks but maybe its just old'n slow....unsure how old it is wouldn't be newer than 3-4 years

haven't tried any other PC's but ill give it a go in another driver
