If any of the new guys arn't sure - oxycut is an awesome place which cut thick bisalloy steel plate, ala:
Making a new feather and in a few weeks time will need to get some parts cut. More than happy to just do it myself and courier them to me but thought I'd put this out there if anyone else wants parts could combine the lot. Think i'll only be needing 6mm bis 400.

Quick question: how do relatively small holes come out with plasma cutting? My parts have some 8mm screw holes and its best to know whether to plasma cut them or drill them later.

Quick answer, really badly. I don't think they attempt much under 20mm, and you've seen the finish when we've bored them out in the past!
It's a nice and cheap process but yeah, none too pretty... _________________ ( •_•)

Oxycut isnt accurate at all, if you get a one tooth spinner disk cut out, It'll be way out of balance. Cheap though. The smallest hole they could do was like 14mm or something. but given the way the holes came out on my stuff its more like a spline lol.
Was thinking of getting the shapes cut oversize myself just to get the bisalloy then posting it up to that waterjet mob aaron uses to get it cut out accurately _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

Might be worth checking if the Brisbane guys can actually get bisalloy directly?
I basically just need a really really tough as nails chunk for a wedge, material can be whatever. Bis HHA... *drools* _________________ ( •_•)
Not so fast, I've got no interest getting big bits made there, all I need is rough, so not worth the extra cost + postage for me. Go ahead if you guys want it though. _________________ ( •_•)

My advice is to send them a self addressed express post pack or box to post your parts back in. This is quicker and cheaper (as they generally prefer couriers). Don't forget to request the use of the dynamic waterjet on any parts that you don't want cutting taper, I made that mistake with my hardox parts and had to do a bit of filing on a few holes. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/

Another dumb question: is there any preference at these places for the version of Autocad to export to: My software can (supposedly) export anything from ver 2008 back to Release 2.5

It's not autocad specific, it's just got to be a .dxf file drawn at 1:1 scale in mm.
I always send a confirmation measurement for them to check when they import it at their end to ensure the .dxf is correct. IE: On my hardox bars, I asked them to check that the center hole was 8mm. _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
