IMHO, too much technology getting in the way of the entertainment value - having to do complete a complicated tag procedure will A) slow down the actual combat and B) put the bot trying to tag at a distinct disadvantage. Better to keep it really simple IE the driver tagging out drives over to his home corner and calls out " I'm tagging out'.
I don't get the problem with disabled bots having accidental damage - that happens all the time in melee matches and nobody seems to care! It's hard for a spinner bot to choose where it lands after an impact and that rule could even be used to win by pushing a spinner into a disabled team-mate to disqualify.
I'm for the simplest possible rule-set that doesn't allow blatant cheating but might allow a certain amount of crowd-pleasing shenanigans.

I agree with Nick, if you don't like the idea of your robot possibly being hit after being knocked out you're in the wrong sport.
I also like the idea that if one bot is out the other is left to fend for itself against two. This could be really exciting for the crowd as it could go both ways especially if a well driven bot uses a spinner against its team mate.

how about being hit 1 minute after both team mates have been knocked out? I guess that's allowed for being entertaining.....................
Regretting tag team idea already. _________________ Steven Martin

Maybe it should be tested at a few smaller events before trying it at a large event. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems
Yeh I am tempted to agree. This is just going to be too much of a screw around to organise might just default back to normal unless there is overwhelming enthusiasm to run tag team.

Sounds like a two camera setup for these events! I like the idea of Daniel's Huntsman being the ref bot...that would crack everyone up every time it had to step in.! _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts
