They are 770 sized motors. 1200RPM and 850RPM are the other options I can get. I went for 1700RPM to see if they will be any good for a decent, highspeed rambot o doom Very Happy And the 330RPM ones are for Wanda, where 500+RPM is no good with 10" wheels Razz

Noods, price and weight I'll get to later.

lol cool well, would defo be interested in a set of 800rpm'ers for future usage if they turn out to be any chop.

Could your supplier chuck in a few 18v 550s while they're at it ;D haha

Noodz for Glen

1700RPM (14:1) motors = 760g ea

330RPM (71:1) motors = 870g ea

The whole family of motors (small ones are 550 motors)

First up, they have plastic in the first stage, which was my fault. I'll get them to send me the metal gears over with our next order, then they will be 100% metal geared! The gears are not that big, but they are around 1mm wider then normal drill gears and the carrier plates and pins are bigger.

Supplier don't do 18v 550's, so your on your own Smile

Not half bad. Whats the little pocket thing on the front of the motor mount plate for though? some kind of spacer? and the weight of the 550 setup would be handy too.

That ring gear looks mighty heavy, so i guess you could turn some weight out of that.

keep us updated anyway, most interested indeed Cool

The front bit on the motor is where the ring gear bolts on radially to the motor. The bearing end bolts into the ring gear axially. The 550 setup is 400g. The ring gears are heavy and I'm definitely looking into machining them down (for personal use, not for botbitz). The 2-stage ring gear is 205g, the 3-stage is 285g and the 550 2-stage is 102g.

I was looking at putting the 1700RPM motors into Schmackhed's old chassis this weekend and give it some abuse next event. However, the plastic gears will give up pretty quick I reckon and not show the potential. Might just wait till I have the metal gears first.

Do the metal gears from the 550 ones fit?

No, gears are of different size, tooth count and pitch.

TPY1-25s are back in stock @ HK and have shipped today. So hopefully we will be getting stock of 25A, Plush10 ESCs and more gearmotors in the next week or two.

Don't for the love of god get the first stage changed to metal...

There's a reason they are plastic... the first stage is the fastest and with metal gears also the nosiest. you wont get any added strength by changing the first stage to metal.

For industrial or general consumer good, plastic gears would be good, but for Combat Robots, they are the epitome of fail. When it comes to gear motors, if they are not metal all the way, you might as well throw them away Razz

Hoorah, new stock finally turned up, along with a truck load of other sample motors to tinker with Wink

Some new 25mm gear motors similar to the 1000RPM ones (Same gearbox, different motor).

970RPM @ 12v. However smaller motor. Sending this pair to Glen to try out in Killer to see if they are worth selling.

Some new 28mm gear motors.

Bit bigger, bit heavier and a bit more powerful then the 1000RPM motors.
I've two version to test, 1650RPM @ 12V and 600RPM @ 12v. They also have a nice 6mm shaft on them.

Comparison of the 25's vs 28's

Those 28's look exciting. Planetary gearbox by any chance? Bearings?
