you could also lay your extension wire against the motor wire, then wrap a few individual strands of conductor around the two wires tightly, then hot glue, and heatshrink over all that

sorta like this

Rofl cute, what was the total lead time in the end? Shocked
@Jaemus there's a link page or so back, same guy who sells the bigger 1000rpm motors, just search 6v 1000rpm on his page. They have 500rpm too. Smile

The dissection!

Intricate little buggers. The outer cover is just that, a microscopically thin tube of steel that i guess you could remove. but it weighs so little why bother.

Similar in construction to the polous with the little brass stand offs and clamped construction, but the use of proper bolts instead of those CRAP countersunk ones is a big bonus. Plus the gears seem rather stout compared.

Excuse the filthy nails lol, can you tell ive been building? Razz

Im pretty impressed, they weigh 20 grams a pop which is quite heavy, but it looks like there is some scope for lightening if you want to go that extreme Smile

interesting. I just ordered some of the 12v 1200 rpm motors that the same mob has, to experiment with. They look to be a similar style to the one you're holding, and apparently 27g and 16x42mm - so a shitload lighter and smaller than the 1000 rpm ones we're used to

EDIT: these

They look even better than pololu ones and half the price. Front plate doesn't look like it will let the screws pull through.

It will be interesting to hear how they go once you have them in an ant. Do you know when you will be using them?

I thought some people looking for maximum potential out of their little ant brushless motors might be interested in this from HK http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5344

Got that kit a few years back, it's the right size but sadly stick mount, so really limits how you can use it because it's so darn high. Crying or Very sad Pretty convinced on the motors jaemus was using hmm they're way tiny flat but still have a 3mm shaft! Very Happy

yeah the 3mm shaft was what sold me Smile one of them came with a full kit of screws, adaptors, spec sheet and bullet connectors too, tho for some reason the other one didnt

kit is interesting, i'd go a low KV setup for instant spin up and not- too insanely high top speed with my poorly balanced weapons Razz

I guess with the kit you could even rewind one of the other style motors to be more suited. Which is something I might play with.

yeah, not a bad point, provided the gauge of the supplied wire was suitable - tho you could just buy the wire alone from somewhere
